If you've ever read someone's xmas or valentine's day rants? Kinda like that. Just that this holiday is my pet hate.

I really hope there's no food disasters. I had enough problems back in August whenI cooked that brisket.

What's on the menu at your house? I've already made the cranberry goo, mashed cauliflower with garlic, chives and basil, and glazed carrots. (all of this keeps fine til go-time.) Tomorrow I'm doing a pear-ginger upside down cake, creamed spinach, and the oyster dressing from Deanie's. Thursday I'll throw a Mrs. Smith's apple crumb in the oven (I'm already making a cake, so I'm not making pie too.) and the turkey and calling it a day. I still have to straighten up the guest room, throw in one more load of wash, clean the kitchen (ahahahahaha) manage to get to target, pick up the oysters, some fresh parsley (stop and shop was *dead out.*) and some flowers tomorrow. But so far? It's been relatively pain free on the cooking front. It wasn't even a zoo in the supermarket today.

There's no way to make mashed cauliflower look good. It looks like regurgitated dryer lint.

If the cake and turkey come out pretty of course I'll take photos.
