The space between the blocks used to be a street, now it's gated & has been made into a sort of garden - a water feature, the obligatory bamboo & this moored above.

The blocks are close together, it's a gloomy little canyon & this is a neat trick to force attention into the vertical, distracting from cramped space in the human scale.
You're right though SR, I shouldn't like to live with it either...

It's attached by steel guys to the balconies. Which does give me pause in the areas of noise, vibration & wind damage, but hey.

Not certain sure Emmeline's is the community one would hope to build though. Splendid on a whole host of things but all the same, she was behind the WWI white feathers campaign, the bloodthirsty old baggage...
