Took a trip down memory land on Sunday. This is the time my sister and I got into a Yorkshire local paper for wearing our welsh costumes to a village gala. This one's for the blonde cutie above, now pregnant with her second child.

Aw, now that's a sight to gladden any Welsh Nana's heart & a cutting to be endlessly shown off. Are the costumes still around, shall we see the next generation in Welsh bonnets & shawls?

OJ says:

Funnily enough, none of my grandparents are welsh. We moved there when I was young and cute and my mum did a great job of assimilating us by making the - historically accurate of course - costumes.

I don't know if she does still have them to be honest. Grandchild number one is a boy, and they don't get to wear a welsh costume, just a leek on the lapel.

OJ says:

Heh :)

Okay the smaller and blonder one, is what I meant. My grandad reckons this was 1982, which would make us 7 and 5...

OJ says:

Do you have a sister Jane Doe?

And I bet you were...

Jane Doe says:

Yes, but she is 5 years younger. We're like chalk and cheese; she takes after mum, I'm daddy's girl.

Adorable children, and the costumes look great too! Did she make the bonnets too?

10th Dec 2007, 14:11

OJ says:

Factotum, the cockle-shell bonnets are felt and come ready made from the Welsh costume shop.

"they don't get to wear a welsh costume, just a leek on the lapel" oh how my dyslexic tendencies enjoyed that mental image

OJ says:

What mental image does your dyslexic tendency produce? A leak?

19th Dec 2007, 10:14

FilbertFox says:
