I'm here because it's a place where I want to be.

What do I do with my life - still pondering that, keep exploring the possibilities I suppose...

I do have another more personal moblog Vivupclose

Take a look at my daughter Beth's website...

food for thought...

Everyone, in some small sacred sanctuary of the self, is nuts. -Leo Rosten, author (1908-1997)

We think caged birds sing, when indeed they cry. -John Webster, playwright (c. 1580-1634)

There are two kinds of light -- the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures. -James Thurber, writer and cartoonist (1894-1961)

The artist brings something into the world that didn't exist before, and he does it without destroying something else. -John Updike, writer (1932-2009)

Some people become so expert at reading between the lines they don't read the lines. -Margaret Millar, novelist (1915-1994)

There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest. -Elie Wiesel, writer, Nobel laureate (b. 1928)

Helen says:

Poor Mog, but her boots are beautiful.

Viv says:

Poor little Mog had a lump on her neck which was removed yesterday - tests results in a few days
We had to boot her for her own good!!
She still trusts us and purrs constantly

11th Dec 2007, 10:14

Viv says:

that was quick Helen!

she seems fine and after trying to shake them off for a while she doesn't seem too bothered by her boots!

she's spending a lot of time with alan and we are keeping the other animals away

hildegard says:

True, those are vey festive boots, but poor lass on the surgery front. Hope it's a nice benign cyst or similar, glad she's getting all the post-operative Alan time she needs.

11th Dec 2007, 10:28

Viv says:

they thought it was a cyst the first time i took her and told me to wait and see what happened - but it got bigger so decided it had to go - the vet said he'd got all the mass and there were no porblems - so just have to cross fingers and wait on the results

Helen says:

Hmmm, wonder if that microchip was in there somewhere. Think that's a bit further down her neck scruff.

Poor Mog, she does look a little disastrous, but at least she's forgiven you.

Steve NLI says:

Must have been fun trying to get the boots on.

11th Dec 2007, 12:26

Dhamaka says:

poor Mog,
give her a cuddle for me
and take one for yourselves too

but the shots are sweet

11th Dec 2007, 12:38

beth says:

Geodyne says:

Poor Mog. It's so clear she trusts you!

11th Dec 2007, 13:24

factotum says:

Poor thing. It looks as if she's convalescing well!

11th Dec 2007, 13:49

Jane Doe says:

poor thing. I thought she was just being 'festive' at first glance.

11th Dec 2007, 19:32

Viv says:

yes steve - it was a struggle but i didn't get scratched - she escaped a few times before we succeeded!

She does seem to be coping very well and is not nearly as restless as I thought she would be - maybe staying in kennels recently has some bearing on that

she's been pretty good with the boots too - not really chewed them - mainly tries to shake them off

11th Dec 2007, 21:44

Helen says:

I think also the fact it's so very cold outside may help to convince her that staying indoors is not so very bad.

11th Dec 2007, 21:48

Viv says:

not really as she hasn't had a chance to sniff the air!
think she'd have liked today - 'til the sun went anyway!

11th Dec 2007, 21:54

paintist says:

poor little thing :-( I hope all is well and that it is benign

11th Dec 2007, 22:31

beth says:

have you heard back yet?

17th Dec 2007, 11:54

Viv says:

no - she's getting very restless now - can't wait to be able to let her out

17th Dec 2007, 11:57

looker says:

What a beautiful cat! I have several and can only imagine the wrestling match you had to get the boots on.
