San Francisco at night

JokerXL says:

superb Euphro, and that iso.1600 is really freezing the action.
No signs of break-up at this resolution either.

i'm really enjoying your SF colection. your D100 seems to like you alot.

This entire SF series is great! Liking the big sail boat in the 7th shot

Plus I hadn't noticed that was at iso1600; my Lumix tends to heavily pixelate above iso200! Another reason I need to buy me an SLR!

Thanks for all the lovely comments.

I have Mandy to thank for showing me what the camera can do. I'd never have tried it at such high ISO, or played with aperture priority, but the results are really impressive.

It's great fun wandering around at night taking pictures with no flash and having them come out sharp :)

[edit] the very top shot is at ISO6400 (Hi-2 on the D100) which is a bit noisy, but in a pleasing way.

You know, I don't think I've ever really seen pictures of SF at night. It's very photogenic! :)
