Have you read Raymond Brigg's Father Christmas? It is a little like this cartoon but rather warm and lovely. Really emphasises that beneath the magic of Father Christmas there is a bloke grafting hard in freezing cold weather dreaming about his holidays somewhere warm.

Yes, and Fungus the Bogeyman too, and Ethel and Ernest, but that's very sad, as is the snowman - always makes me cry. Fungus doesn't though :)
