I've always wondered

Just what it must have been like in WW2 to have been stuck in a pill box not knowing whether you would be attacked or not so I thought I'd venture inside an old pill box near us. It was quite a strange feeling, and I'm glad I wasn't around back then to have to go through it.

there are quite a few of those things along the coastline here. I remember seeing a German Bunker, in the middle of Wuppertal, and that was way creepier, all the more so for being still there in the midst of urban development

I once went through an underground network of gun tunnels that sat on (under) a hall by the harbour. Not as claustrophobic bu certainly not a comfortable place.
