This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

19th Dec 2007, 12:58

Dhamaka says:

Carpe - for the touchscreen

19th Dec 2007, 13:00

looks a fun phone - great prize too!

anonymous says:

can i come round and play?

19th Dec 2007, 13:17

Kostika says:

They didn't build in a stylus holder into the case? That's bad design idea I think.

It looks pretty, but I'm still not so keen on these totally touch screen phones.

19th Dec 2007, 14:54

nige says:

you got it!

the haptics are really good on this handset, so texting is easy. the camera is good, but i'm yet to see results on big screen.

540air says:

JokerXL says:

No sign of mine yet.
Bloody London-centric, that's the problem.
Out here in the "Polders", no one cares about us, oh no.

Did you understand all that stuff that Stuart sent in that Email this afternoon?
You Nige?
I read it twice and still have no clue as to what I'm supposed to be doing.

Congrats D. 'tis indeed a beauty-viewty.

19th Dec 2007, 17:39

JokerXL says:

"shame there's no lens cover"?
Bit of spit and the tip of your little finger'll do the trick.
(call the resulting mess "artistic effect"
Otherwise hot-glue one corner of a (Heinneken) beer-bottle top to cover the lens, flip it to one side when taking pictures!
Jeez, I should pitch that to LG, sponsorship deals with various beer brewers:
"LG's beauty-viewty. Brought to you in conjunction with Grolsch/Guinness/Newcastle brown ale/Becks(if you must)"

Rachel says:

I've just got a Viewty too. Still getting used to it, but like it the phone and the touch screen is great - I've never even used the stylus. The camera is good in good light, but is poor in low light; I'm not getting as good shots as I got out of the K850i that I decided against and sent back because I wasn't impressed with the camera! Just can't win really, but overall it's not bad.

spoon_lamp says:

Very nice - I'm sure I must be due an upgrade....

19th Dec 2007, 19:29

nige says:

mine arrived last night, joker. don't worry about stuarts email - it's just explaining how to set up a moblog. just add the viewty details to your own moblog as normal, configure the phone, and post to cityclickers directly as you would from your regular phone.

19th Dec 2007, 20:23

JokerXL says:

Oh, good then.
Why didn't he just say so?
Bloomin' mumbo-jumbo.

Still. MK is higher up the techno-socio ladder than my gaff too then I see?
I wanna play with my new gadget too! Still, won't be home till Friday/Saturday so can't do anything till then anyway.

19th Dec 2007, 20:33

nige says:

not sure what they'll do with yours but the UK winners got them couriered! the guy who delivered mine was wearing a tuxedo and everything. when he handed it over to me, he was like "and now the award for cityclickers goes to..."

19th Dec 2007, 20:38

ookiine says:

Nice... No lens protection for the new Voyager (US) too. Must be a worldwide trend for LG.

19th Dec 2007, 21:53

ktricho says:

They all r so sweet.

20th Dec 2007, 03:26

Dhamaka says:

jetblack - so do I (and I understood it)

Anonysprocket & Boet - any time

Kostika - you're right of course, but it's still nice/ very pretty. Sadly also the touch screen doesn't work as quickly as the keypad but maybe I'll find compensations as I get used to the phone

540 - you know that you and yours are always welcome

OJ - I did (much to my surprise). Nige was the other UK winner (which didn't surprise me at all)

minkey - indeed :)

winespy - can't wait to work out how to take the pictures!

SFG, Toddy, Paintist - indeed!

Rachel - sadly I think you're right... but if I get stuck with this phone (which is frankly quite likely, I have low patience levels for new technology.. something to do with expecting intelligent design) you may receive an email saying "how do you....."

Spoon_Lamp - wait a while, I'm not yet sure if some of these features are frustrating because they're unfamiliar or because they're.. well... frustrating

Joker - sorry, I'm sure it will come soon

nige - while I got a scrumpled piece of paper (not even a form) saying "contact.... for your failed delivery"... and even that went to the wrong address

ookiine - maybe so. Symptomatic of designers who don't actually believe anyone would seriously want use their cameras properly

ktricho - thank you

20th Dec 2007, 08:58

OJ says:

Congratulations Dhamaka and Nige. Does this mean that you'll be tagged "sponsored by LG" from here on in?

20th Dec 2007, 11:18

Dhamaka says:

thanks OJ
I'm thinking of it more as a commission rather than a sponsorship... As you know, the sponsorships I'm going for need to do more than pay a portion of my mobile phone bill...
*smiles winningly in the direction of anyone thinking of sponsoring my Argentine expedition
