For the solstice, everyone comes with a pot to bang, or something to make noise, with torches, lanterns, candles, lights of any kind. In costume or not. There is music, dancing and a huge bonfire. We beat back the dark, and congratulate ourselves on making it through another dark time. From now on, the light is coming back. Just what I needed.

uber, yes, she was entirely lit up. it was some dress. and nige, yes, just feeling good.

I was born on the winter solstice, and when I was very young I thought it most unfair having a birthday on the shortest day of the year ..... now, had I been born in Canada, then I would have had all this happening on my birthday .... truely magical :) ......... a wonderful series of photos, and so glad that it has lifted your spirits ......
