I'm no Columbo, but you think that maybe the Police would establish a pattern and wait for them to do it again?
Yes Steve, you'd think so...but they're obviously too busy elsewhere!
There's usually a gaggle of 20 or so teenagers outside the shop that the bus stop is next to on Friday & Saturday nights, and whilst I don't like to generalise, or tar them all with the same (negative) brush that the 'youth' of today have, I'm pretty sure it's not rampaging OAPs who are causing the damage!
or maybe hide sacks of permanant glo ink ready to explode on impact in the bus shelter..
Looks like a job for Lexan®. There's nothing like a sheet of plexiglass where you weren't expecting it to make a thrown brick bounce back and clock you in the skull....

Those hooligans!!!!
LOL! Looks like something I might have done in my youth...
I got chucked out of school for allegedly doing this as a youth. Case of mistaken identity so got let back in with no apologies (this was a da 80's though). Bugs me as well but public property is always a target
Fools.
Can't they set up a (temp) covert camera?
If they keep coming back they'll be easy meat!
A rather late update - but some weeks after this our local councillor (whose name I included in my tags ;-) ) contacted me and asked if he could use my photos on his website to raise awareness of this issue.
Since then we've not had any problems, and the local police have put up their mobile CCTV camera across the road. Result!
