This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

Lovely textures!

9th Jan 2008, 10:19

OJ says:

Oh but I disagree, it is good. I like the last ones.

9th Jan 2008, 13:11

Sprocket says:

you appear to have a lot of rope in your place, do you have lots of stuff that needs tying up?

9th Jan 2008, 13:52

Sprocket says:

Macro looks a bit grainy, but the other shots are great

9th Jan 2008, 13:52

Dhamaka says:

Thank you and I'm happy to be disagreed with

they're all macro shots Sprocket - and I'm sorry to disappoint you but they're all part of an outdoors door mat

9th Jan 2008, 14:07

Euphro says:

Is it a big mat? The detail is stunning if that is twine :)

9th Jan 2008, 14:09

Dhamaka says:

thank you - it is a normal doormat size. with each strand about 0.8cm in diameter. Not twine but something hardwearing and rafia-like

9th Jan 2008, 14:14

Euphro says:

Wow, that's pretty impressive.

9th Jan 2008, 14:17

Dhamaka says:

thank you - I think I may finally have found something that the viewty does well!

9th Jan 2008, 15:14

I'm really liking these pictures. And the fact that they came from something with a not-so-good reputation for usability... Fantastic!

I remember something from the seventies called macramé. It was really big for a while. Lace-making for the fat-fingered. Or Japanese rope bondage for houseplants. Something like that.

Speaking of.....I've been wondering whether anyone's done a comprehensive review of the Viewty. I've been really missing the old phonecam reviews that seemed to be much more of a regular feature.

It would be nice to see one from someone who didn't win it in the comp - do you know of anyone?

9th Jan 2008, 15:30

If anyone cares to send me one that'll take a T-Mobile SIM (or with active service for my region in the US), I'll have you a review in a week....

I like the bottom one best - looks like an alien terrain

9th Jan 2008, 16:53

frog51 says:

Loved thie pics - and my apologies: my mind was in a similar place to Laszlo's...but without the houseplants.

9th Jan 2008, 17:06

Dhamaka says:

thank you all

OJ - I'm afraid I don't know anyone who didn't win it

*hands frog51 a big houseplant

Rachel says:

I've got one I didn't win! Not sure I'm any good at reviews though...

Will post some shots from it shortly though.

PS love the photos

9th Jan 2008, 19:44

Dhamaka says:

thank you Rachel - I look forward to seeing the shots and hearing what you think

10th Jan 2008, 01:24

Caine says:

Fab shots, D. Really well done. 3rd and 4th shots for me. :)

10th Jan 2008, 03:21

Dhamaka says:

thank you Caine

10th Jan 2008, 08:18

MaggieD says:

Wow, these are ace macro shots .... I thought it was rope until I read the comments :)

10th Jan 2008, 22:39

Dhamaka says:

It's the one thing I've so far found that the viewty does well. I could only push the SEk800i to about 60% of the theoretical magnification before it started pixelating. I shot this doormat at maximum and you can see that while the detail doesn't look quite right somehow there's no pixellation at all

10th Jan 2008, 23:07

midlife says:

That's a stellar theme and capture

14th Jan 2008, 00:23

Dhamaka says:

thank you midlife
