V went to the non EU Capital of Culture and all she brought me were these speciality fishes. Mmm.

They were/are in tins, yes. I've already had the kippers :)

She's brought back a poster of an old tin label, which we might hang up. The sardines are definitely getting eaten... I love 'em.

Sardines only taste good to me when cooked on a Trangia & eaten out of doors.

Well you'd have liked the Canning Museum, I'll bet. Apparently they had a whole floor full of vintage sardine labels.

I think the Robert Opie Collection might feature in Far From the Sodding Crowd which I got for Christmas.
