On Wednesday this week I have my first dental appointment in far, far too long. My front teeth are badly FUBAR - they've always been an orthodontist's nightmare (or wet dream, financially) and in fact I did have braces when I was a teenager. But that doc flew south with the ducks in winter, and they were just as crooked after 2 years as they started. And I came out of it with a severe anxiety problem about having people sticking things in my mouth.
So, what I'm hoping for is that the new dentist is going to take a look, I'm going to inform her clearly and in no uncertain terms that I don't DO root canals, crowns, or all that jazz, and braces are not an option, and she'll be willing to yank the broken front and back teeth and the other front ones that are in places they aren't supposed to be, and give me straight dentures. I know they can't get rid of the overbite that way, but at this point, if I didn't have it, I would probably have to relearn how to talk/eat/whistle/etc anyway.
