"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience

Skating away, skating away, skating away On the thin ice of the new day"

It's snowing a treat outside. This is Spice Wrongway, Sugar's sibling. She's very suspicious and spooky, so it's not easy getting shots of her. I got these hanging half way out of my studio window.

wow - such gorgeous contrasty shots :]

she does love those sunflower seeds.......

Caine says:

Thanks, Jetblack. She's a wonderful splash of colour in all the white. The snow is coming down fast and heavy now. We're supposed to get 6 inches today.

Caine says:

She does, Paintist. I've been tossing seeds out my window for the rabbit who lives in the kindling pile. The rabbit comes out between 3 and 5 a.m. to eat up all the sunseeds he/she can. Little Spice can pack away the food, but she is terribly spooky, and runs away at the slightest alarm unlike Sugar, who doesn't get too worried if food is on. :)

ooh, I just want to take her home and give her a big cuddle

She makes me feel the same way, Sprocket. Thanks. :)

They do look fragile in the snow. Thanks, Maggie. :)

I like the way you capture personality

I'm in love with this little cutie.

15th Feb 2008, 10:26

Caine says:

Thanks, Taniwha. It's easy enough, they all have distinct personalities. I can't keep track of them all anymore though. The Wrongways have produced a small town of squirrels!

Aw, thanks Geo. I am too. She's very young and small. I just want to protect her.

looks like she's terribly hungry)))

These are lovely, Caine. I've stopped pretending that I'm annoyed by the squirrels looting the birdfeeders. In fact, it's become part of the game, being outsmarted by the squirrels.

looker says:

I love seeing your squirrels. Our trees are not quite big enough to have them yet. You really can capture their personalities!

These are gorgeous

Caine says:

Stella, *all* squirrels look terribly hungry! They'd look that way after an eight course meal. :D

Thanks, Factotum. The Wrongway clan is pretty good, they usually hit one bird feeding dish at a time. One of them has figured out how to open the suet baskets, though. Little bugger.

Thanks, Looker. They have a ton of personality. You just wait - we started with one squirrel, now we have a colony.

Thank you, Puddikat. :)

Hi, AAH! Thank you. It's really good to 'see' you. :)

these are divine

Caine says:

Thanks, D. :) There's another shot of Spice in the set of pics after/above these. She's a doll, even though she is massively paranoid.

Aw,
*joins queue for squirl cuddling*

21st Mar 2008, 12:34

Caine says:

She's the littlest Wrongway (unless there are new ones I haven't seen) and very small. She's terribly paranoid, not that I blame her - she's perfect snack size for a lot of the hawks and eagles.
