I am married to Spiderbaby and live in Banbury, Oxfordshire after eight years living in the USA and Sweden. I am working and training as a clinical scientist for the NHS in Oxford.

There are now over ten years of photographs on my blog! It all started with a photograph I took on the 1st of May 2004... It's been a wonderful journey, thank you all who have shared it with me, and made this blogging community one I keep coming back to!

Interesting things I read recently:

"Only one in five people born [in the UK] since 1975 believes in God".
Source: Prof David Voas, University of Essex

"For every dollar invested in the Human Genome project, $141 was returned to the US economy". Francis Collins, NIH
Source: New Scientist 27 July 2013.

I am Pavlovs_dog on PSN and would be happy to link up with Playstation-owning mobloggers : )

Too Much Information: The first album I ever bought was the Fraggle Rock soundtrack. Pretty cool, eh? I was only 16 : )

Spiderbaby says:

Pub cheese??? Does this mean there will be pubs somewhere that sell cheese or that the cheese is made in/out of pubs? Intriguing...

Do the supermarkets there have a rubbish cheese selection? Most places here seem to have a choice of either cheddar, orange coloured cheddar, or marbled cheddar :o(

Actually it's pretty much the same as home. The same products in the same boxes with the same logos... but strangely different brand names...

That's not too bad. The only logo I recognise from here is Safeway, which is bizarre considering they're no longer in existence in the UK. And some products look the same, but taste completely different (for example cadbury's is rubbish out here). Oh well, so long as they have Froot Loops...

Yes, you're right there, things do taste strangely different. I've found in general that there's less flavour to food here. Sweetcorn, pesto, even chilli powder seems to taste much weaker here. It's very odd.

it's cos it's all over-processed, sugar-added, artificial shite. American food standards are generally toss and often terrifying.

That said, I would at least try a cheese that tasted of pubs. Probably only once.
