The highest tide I've seen in a while and the wind is rising too.

These made me realize that it's been several years since I've seen an ocean. I'll have to do something about that!

It is a little sinister. Alternative title The Waves. Those stoic figures look suicidal today.

Yep, that's a walk to get out of the way today - sounds like it could be a bit messy if the forecast's right...

Last one looks like the world's laziest bodysurfer, "can't be bothered swimming out; I'll just wait here for the tide to come in a bit." though the laidback attitude's a bit undermined by all that weather heading in from the middle of the pic.

billion, it *is* Antony Gormley's Another Place, this time submerged.

Factotum, yes you really should go to the seaside. Strictly speaking this (the Mersey shore) doesn't count as ocean but I do see what you mean.

Reggie Perrin did spring to mind, as did that scene that sticks in my mind from The Hours, where Julianne Moore's character is engulfed in a hotel bedroom.

I hope everyone stays safe in the stormy weather to come.

ps. Email me about your friend who is friends with my brother!
