Back to the vet on Tuesday. He's having X rays if she's not happy with his progress. Silly mutt, let's hope it wasn't a flying lesson off the window ledge...
(Realise the pic is 100% out of focus but that seemed appropriate to his drugged-up state.)
don't care about focus.
message conveyed.
what the hell did he do to himself?
Not a clue. Woke up & he was hobbling & being needy. Might have hurt himself the day before, might have fallen off some household perch in the night, might have injured himself some time ago & be incubating an abcess. Antibiotics & an apparently delicious anti-inflammatory are the first line of defence.
oh i pray he gets better soon. he is such a handsome boy. please keep us updated on his condition. my whole family says get well soon.
SFW - don't fret about Oscar, he's so gung-ho he's forever injuring himself. The vet says he's "an extremely active young cat" (which I think is code for "idiot") and that the odd injury is only to be expected.
Joker - only cool because I moved the dining table; he kept falling off that windowledge without it. Kept falling but wouldn't stop lying there. That's ma boy...
didn't you once say he likes the drugs? do we have a problem, Houston?
Nope, he's got no problem - he has a regular, pharmaceutically pure supply for which he neither hustles nor pays. The very definition of "not a problem".
Still limping though, so we'll see if the vet wants to x ray him tomorrow. They'll have to sedate him for x rays; he'll probably like that.
I have no idea why he loves his Metacam so much - it smells like old socks.
mmmm i love old socks. Poor sweetie, hope he is back to his usual mad self soon
poor thing - looks like he can 'work it' in front of the lens though. Very sweet.
Poor, sweet, suchtig Oscar.
And I so know what your vet means about "extremely active young cat". I have one just like yours.
Oscar's veterinary update:
Still no clue how he got hurt but the limp is much improved. Vet wants him back next week when he's finished his antibiotics, just to be sure there's no infection.
(And flipping M&S; have dropped the "no excess" feature from their pet insurance policy. Gah!)
think you might need to do an in depth review of pet insurance - he might prove a very expensive stray!
You're right Viv, every time I think "Good, he's over all that, now I can see about insurance." the lunatic animal goes & damages himself again. Thankfully, he's not one of those secretive beasts who hides 'til he's gone septic. Oscar has considerable effective communication skills...
He seems to be recovering but the vet has put him on house arrest for another week so he doesn't make the injury worse with more adventures.
Poor chap, he's had an rough time lately. Repeated trips to the vet, going missing for over 24 hours last week & spending the weekend in cattery while I was away. He's being very affectionate now he's home...
Poor Oscar, not a good year for him... but when things are going so bad they can only go in a better way!
