I recommend the macaroons.

Oh Ah...worth a visit indeed and macarons. But can't you have a bit of all? suppose that would be hmmm greedy

Think it might be impossible - each macaroon completely fills a side plate. It's very popular walking country round there & they go in for substantial servings...

It's good, isn't it? Wondering what to do with ourselves in a heavy downpour, & there it was, Women's Institute-standard cakes in a bowed window, waitresses in black dresses, turned wood chairs... resistance was futile.
I must go back & try their fruit cake. Apparently they do B&B.; Staying for the weekend might be the only way to sample all the cakes...

Oh my! That's fantastic. A real feast for the eyes and certainly helps me keep my focus! Thank you :)

Nearly have enough ingredients to make some sort of cake over here now, just need to get baking powder and bicarb (no such thing as self-raising flour over here, or mixed dried fruit, or glace cherries, loads of other stuff just no basics).

I've done it! I've made a cake! It's not WI standard though, not by a long way, and tastes a bit strange on account of the flour having salt in it which I didn't notice until too late (not used to flour having 'ingredients'!). Next time will be different :)

Salt in the flour?

Woos & blimmin yays, that woman. There is some corner of a foreign side plate that is just briefly england...
