Did I mention what a fantastic phone the N95 is with 3's X-series? It gives you a proper view of the full moblog:UK site, which is far better than the attempts that any of the SE browsers can manage.

that in black is sexual.

once a page is fully loaded a new option appears in the options menu which allows you to edit the zoom. really good feature which lets you see a lot more of the page. only appears once it stops loading though.

funnily enough i think i'm going to get that on 3. i can't be bothered to wait for the new handsets, and this has everything i need.

2nd Apr 2008, 13:36

The N95 8gb is one of the best handset I have owned..

I'm very temped by that - if they get it on Orange I'll go for it - their crappy network rates won't bother me that much if I can use the WiFi :)

It's fantastic, which is something I really didn't think I'd find myself saying about a Nokia handset.

sean, I'm sure they will, but 3 only costs me £40 a month and I get 750 minutes, 50 video minutes, 150 texts and 50 mms. The x-series part is only £10 and gives you unlimited data. I've looked about loads and as yet haven't come across a better package to be honest :)

re: browsers - opera mini is far better than any vendor supplied mobile browser I've tried.

agree with mat. look out for Skyfire though...

just ordered it on 3. gets here on friday. free handset & £25 a month. i ditched x-series because words cannot describe how crap i found it.

Free handset? nice touch. I had to pay £50 for mine, but then I only have a 12 month contract, or 10 months really, if you allow for the fact that you can negotiate 2 months before the end. Seriously surprised about your X-series nightmare, I've had nothing but good service on mine.

mat - I think the nokia browser is really good, but if opera mini is that much better, I'll definitely take a look :)

hype - Skyfire? Thanks, I'll bear it in mind.

mine's only a 12 monther too. i'd never go for 18. got to give a big up to opera mini as well. it's rather good.

Skyfire is in Beta. You can get in now in the USA. I have to wait :( It supports Flash and AJAX so YouTube etc will work :D skyfire dot com.

Big up to that nige, free ring dings!

I think I'm going to go for the N95 8GB when I upgrade in the next few months. Seems to have the slight edge on the K850i in terms of things other than just a great camera...and I really want something I can shoot half-decent video on...the N80 (for all it's faults) made me realise that good mobile video is possible, and the N95 make me want that even more.

Only question is, do I wait for the N96?

15th May 2008, 21:38

540air says:

To be honest I'd go for the N95, mostly because all the niggles and issues seem to be sorted and getting a new N96 would give you all those type of hassles :)

15th May 2008, 22:51

Yeah that's what I was thinking! The N95 8GB is tried and tested, so I think I'll go with it.

Good choice indeed :)
