Best Cinema in London

You gotta love these old cinemas.

Tried to get into my local version last night but it sells out so far in advance..

Funnily enough the Phoenix used to be called The Rex (in the 40s/50s) and initially (1910-30) it was The Picture House.

It is a wonderful little place,
The owner comes and gives a talk before each performance just like the old days :)

The bottom section has tables with four arm chairs and a full bar.
Still use real to real too.

My fav story was when he had booked two runs of Lawrence of Arabia and didnt plan the rewinding of the reels between shows so hired two violinists to play on the stage whilst the audience waited..

These places are what cinemas should be....
