I'm here because it's a place where I want to be.

What do I do with my life - still pondering that, keep exploring the possibilities I suppose...

I do have another more personal moblog Vivupclose

Take a look at my daughter Beth's website...

food for thought...

Basically those guys on the column represent the kingdom of Dacians.. The last defeated by Romans in the times of Trajan, in 2 major wars: 101-102 and 105-106.
They were located mainly on the current teritory of Romania, but also on north of black sea, Moldova, and parts of todays Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Bulgaria.
Several nations claim ancestry to Dacians or the extended family of daco-getae-thracians, more or less justified, aside of romanians and moldovians inheriting their arreal, between those finding the danes - yutes, suedes - the goths, baltic nations of latvians and lithuanians, poles and more recently the bulgarians. aside of bulgarians, who are a turanic nation, all the other enounced are of indo-european descent, same as the dacians.
Another interesting aspect represented on the column is the dacian king Decebalus comiting suicide thus avoiding being captured alive by the romans.
