"Who is the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" Obi-Wan Kenobi
Thanks for starting this Nige, I was really stuck for something to do in all that spare time I've got these days.
365 days? that's a whole year, right?
OK, let's see how it goes.
For anyone reading this who's not sure what it's about;
Our good (and slightly twisted) friend Nige has thought up another cracker.
Start a new blog and post a self portrait every day for the next 12 months. That's 365 posts, one a day, every day, without fail, of the same subject. Simple? yeah, right.
These other eejits are doin'it too! Join us!

I just got mauled by a bunch of Jehovas.
They are just left to roam the streets unchallenged out there these days. It's just not safe anymore!
They outflanked me while I was making a sandwich and was distracted by having to shout at the radio during Prime Minister's Question time.
The only way I could get away with my life intact was to promis to read this booklet all about how we're all going to die in horrible ways if we don't give ourselves over to a life of harassing people in unexpected locations.
These were "specialists" in approaching foreign truck drivers, he had his text written out in dozens of languages, tried his best Dutch on me and looked all disappointed when he found out I was English.

i don't know what it is people have against the JW's. i don't make a big deal of it, but i'm one and i'm okay. don't find much time for spreading the word these days, but i still do it.*

hildegard says:

Heh. When I move into a new place, first JW at the door gets invited in for a chat. Once they've been reasoned to a point where they can't find a JW-approved answer, their training tells them to take the issue back to their elders for guidance.

Said guidance is invariably that the person who introduced such doubt or uncertainty must be in the service of Satan & neither they nor their colleagues should come see me again. :)

if I were to choose at this point in my life to become a member of a particular religious order (as opposed to being thrust into one as a child) I feel I would have to thoroughly research every single religion in the world before deciding on the one that would best suit me and not hurt or piss off others.

I'm not sure if a pamphlet from a jehovah's witness would have much influence over the decision, and unfortunately I don't believe my choice would have any more worth than spontaneously deciding to become a punk, a hippy or a skater...
