Jesson says:

Hi Viv, the natives just keep plodding along looking pretty much the same. My gums still have new red growth on the tips that same as in spring. Some drop a few leaves but that's about it.

Jesson - Do you live in a house at the very end of a circuit street, with a really long driveway?

This photo looks *precisely* like the deck and backyard of the house I used to live in there.

It's all looking lovely there. :)

Your 'natives' are so interesting and exotic to me. It made me smile when you commented on how my forgetmenots and columbine were your 'hard to grow' plants.

No G, I'm not at the end of a circuit but not far from several. My place backs into the bush and you can't see the back fence so the yard looks like it goes on further than it really does. :-)

SR, I remember being on the Hudson Stream Train in Vancouver 15 years ago and seeing the foxgloves clinging like weeds to the side of the mountains. Over here we have to baby them along and if we're lucky we get two seasons out of a plant but they're such hard work to keep them growing.
