Ahah, my boyfriend has an 'unknown' bulb sprouting at the moment and its solitary leaf is looking very like a cuckoo pint at the moment... but I guess it's more likely to be another kind of arum lily.
There are two more unknown bulbs in the pot. One looks a bit hyacinth like, the other a snowdrop (I think they've missed their cue somewhat... I don't think they liked growing inside, but they're outside now after I said it would probably be better for them). The lily, if that is what it is, seems to be doing best... but I may have misidentified them all. It's rather exciting not know what you're going to get.
That sounds like fun! These are popping up in the grass at work, which is a bit unusual: I normally expect to only see them in the ditch :)
They like darkened patches don't they? This one must be a sun worshipper.
