babs says:

if you screw your eyes up tight you can see Cress' birthday on there and also when I'm going to see the Bedouin Jerry Can Band .
June's looks set to be a quiet month .

*rolls eyes heavenwards.

5th May 2008, 21:20

becky says:

I love how appropriate the picture of Shaun the Sheep is for June for the imminent album release!

6th May 2008, 09:17

babs says:

I reckon relentlarse have the same calendar and it is on that fact that they chose the release date.

6th May 2008, 12:33

jen says:

I like shaun the sheep.
I have a countdown timer on my bebo page. wasn't sure whether I was being too hopeful or not though! :D
when is cressi's b'day?

6th May 2008, 16:33

maymay says:

oooooooooh what a lovely calendar, whats it mean all that pink & arrows babs.whats it all mean...June 24th

6th May 2008, 20:37

babs says:

.....the pink arrow means I have a pink felt tip pen, a camera , a furtive imagination and way too much time on my hands.

oddly, I have a big pink arrow on all the other pages ,going back to January on this calendar and similar arrows on last year's calendar between December and the middle of summer .

I never gave up hope.

21st (0;

6th May 2008, 20:49

jen says:

I can see it now. Thanks maymay.
Babs, don't worry, if thats what you end up doing when you have too much time on your hands then i don't think you need to worry. I ended up finding a way to play a fish eggcup my sister got me.

6th May 2008, 21:31

babs says:

*is agog

what can you play on it.???

6th May 2008, 21:43

babs says:

*calendar update.......just added...

Thursday 4th June.
years 3 and 4 trip t' Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
A fab and groovy place.

7th May 2008, 08:07

babs says:

Just found out Richard is coming round to tile the bathroom on the 2nd so the month really is starting to kick off now , after a slow start.

maymay, jen, feel free to add any dates in June to the calendar.
scroll up to the pic and write them on the screen in felt tip in the appropriate space.

*doesn't think they are silly enough to .

7th May 2008, 15:07

jen says:

I'm not so sure. I think i might be depending on how much sugar i have consumed.
6th of june is my last proper exam and 23rd is my last last exam whihc is a rather simple science module. YAY!
nothing else worth adding
(and yes, i can play it, all three notes it can produce)

7th May 2008, 18:58

jen says:

wait a minute...doe sit say 'lamb-tastic' up there followed by another word which can't quite make out?

7th May 2008, 18:59

babs says:

it do indeed.

it say "lamb-tastic mate"

poptastic or what

*hopes jen youtube's little vid of vituoso performance on fich egg cup.

7th May 2008, 19:35

babs says:

*tries to stick "s" over "c" in fich but it keeps falling off screen

7th May 2008, 19:36

jen says:

lol (as much as I hate using it)
My eggcup performance isn't on youtube. I'm not ready for world broadcast yet.
*practises eggcup*

Glad it says mate. I was getting slightly worried at what i was maing it out to be.....

7th May 2008, 21:59

babs says:

*scrolls up to see what jen thought it might have been.

nope. even with eyes screwed up and nose against screen, can't see what jen thought it might have been.

*wonders if jen can get a tune out of cheese grater.

*likes the way jen's musical prowess ties in nicely with kitchen theme from a while ago.

7th May 2008, 23:07

jen says:

if i got something that wouldn't be grated by the grater I could probably get a sort of noise out it *practises*
I can't actually remember what i was making it out to be now.
Maybe I should break into his kitchen and play his appliances then leave.

10th May 2008, 14:26

babs says:

good plan.

Ooooo and then put them all back in the wrong place just out of sheer sillinesss.

tee hee.

10th May 2008, 22:43

jen says:

I could be some mysterious ginger poltergeist, apart from I'd be moving things rather than destroying them.
if he happens to be sitting on the table, do you think I should move him somewhere else as well?

11th May 2008, 16:38

babs says:

Depends how heavy he is really .
you don't want to be doing your back in heaving him over to near the fridge.

If he's engrossed in his fiddling/strumming you might be able to move things around him without him noticing.

While your at it, see if he's got any biscuits.

11th May 2008, 20:41

jen says:

to steal them or so we can get him some more
*draws up alot of plans to figure out where to move everything*
hm, I wonder how much he weighs....
*wonders why wishes to know this*

13th May 2008, 17:01

babs says:

well, he looks quite toned so maybe not as much as you think.

Right jen, to serious matters. The Blog . I agree with what you said the other night on facebook. We'll not write anything until he gets his Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman Phone out of his jean's front pocket (it would explain the bulge) (possibly) and puts something up here for us to comment on.
If not, we'll give it another week or so and I'll start putting up pics of our new bathroom ,sort of before and after type thing.
Then I'll put a few colour charts up and you can help choose a colour for the walls.

16th May 2008, 08:10

jen says:

*likes plan of action*
we're going on a blog strike! If he wants us to comment, he's got to give us stuff to comment on.
But I'll have another go at putting mine on here *sighs*
and if not then I'll willing look at pictures of your bathroom.
(and I usually say green to verything as a prewarning about colour choosing)

16th May 2008, 16:12

babs says:

...of course the plan becomes slightly flawed when I reply to your comment about my comment and so on .

That's the spirit, have another go at posting pics.

sadly it'll be the last few days of august before I can pop any new gig ones on here .)0:

green eh ?? I was thinking of a nice deep, warm red.
we shall discuss this further.
so, no more comments , unless of course you reply to this one.

what do we want ?
new and interesting pics from Lakeman and/or associates.
when do we want them?
now !!!

17th May 2008, 13:00

jen says:

*takes up chant*

hm, yes red would be nice...but in the summer it may be a bit hot. what about pale yellow with a cornflower blue?'s alright to comment here....
*rolls up sleaves to prepare for retry of loading pics*
*realises wasn't wearing a jurmper and has done something rather painful too arm*

17th May 2008, 22:35

babs says:

I think they don't bother with the blog now anyway.
Actually, I'm not all together why we bother.
I'm bored .
Shall we bugger off back to the mire ???

just wanted something a little different. only on one and a half walls, the rest is tiled, hence Richard the tiler on the calendar on the 2nd.

*gets something soothing for horrific arm injuries.

17th May 2008, 23:15

babs says:

re-reads last comment just as it's posted and sees missing "sure " on floor.
*attempts to stick it in between "together" and "why" .

17th May 2008, 23:30

babs says:

*stands on tiptoe with hand over eyes looking and hoping for jen's pics.
*feels jen's pain.

don't worry jen.
I'll make this my last comment, then I'll meet you in facebook as usual.

*opens display case, lifts up knob from dear little velvet cushion.
puts knob in pocket with other things.
blows little kiss to blog.
wanders out into the dazzling sunshine.................

18th May 2008, 07:44

babs says:

*trudges on over moor

*wonders if Seth Lakeman will become the Peter Pan of folk.
*is glad won't be around to witness that.

*imagines Seth in 30 years time posing in black leather trousers , sitting on a motorbike/tractor holding dear little guitar.

*wonders why we never did get part 2 of exciting underwater adventure.

*hopes mit and mada went off and found true happiness together.

*puts fingers in ears and hums comforting song
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end.................

18th May 2008, 09:52

jen says:

*watches babs walking away8
*realises that has been left behind and is now stuck in the blog as has no key*
oh god
*arm seems to be healing*
not oozing so much anymore
*realises is talking to self*
*hears a sound similar to spiders scuttling around*
eep 0_o

18th May 2008, 18:49

babs says:

*looks like has chosen the wrong day to give up the blog as cannot leave jen with no key and at the mercy of a scuttling sound.

*trudges back.

18th May 2008, 21:45

jen says:

*pounds on the door screaming to be let out as scuttling sound did belong to a spider*
*sees babs coming to rescue*
*would fall on the floor weeping wth relief but because of spider...*
*wants stevie the beetle for comfort*

19th May 2008, 20:07

babs says:

oh bless little stevie, I forgot about him,

Don't worry jen , I'm here outside.

*fumbles with key in door.
Nearly there.
I have one of those spider catching doodahs in my pocket somewhere.
*rummages through months of aquisitions.

*bursts through unlocked door and crawls about on floor with spider catching doodah poised ready for action.
*does american cop roll on the floor type thing and traps spider.

quick jen,we'll go and look for stevie, make a bolt for the door,

19th May 2008, 21:17

jen says:

*dashes to door as fast as can away from scary spider*
*makes sure holds open for babs though*
*watches babs put spider somewhere*
*was very impressed by cop roll*
right, then where is stevie?

20th May 2008, 19:18

babs says:

I dont' know, I thought you did.
Damn, does that mean we have to trawl back through all the ramblings on the other threads.??

Can you remember which pic we left him under, ?? was it the dreamy pic of Seth with the lovely pooch or one of the "putting the finishing touches to the album" studio ones ??

so many questions, so little time.

20th May 2008, 20:22

jen says:

I'll go poke....
it may have been under captian wonderful....
*goes to look*
I hope we left him enough minature sandwiches
*continues to look*

20th May 2008, 21:12

jen says:

*comes pufing back from trowling blog*
I found him! He was under captain merchman the drawing...
*looks at stevie*
he's okay, just a little hungry
*gives stevie a little sandwich*
right, now we can head off.
*puts stevie on shoulder*

20th May 2008, 21:17

babs says:

*admires jen's devotion to stevie.

*decides to also have a chum.

*releases Alan, for that shall be his name, from the spider trap thingy ,
*puts alan on shoulder also with a tiny bit of banana.

*heads off slightly behind jen.
*pats Alan on the head ,
but only very very gently.

20th May 2008, 21:57

babs says:

*makes little cover out of the corner of a plastic bag for Alan incase it rains .

21st May 2008, 17:11

babs says:

tell you what jen.
I'm really glad relentlarse decided to look at the date on my calendar before they put the date up for the release of the album.

*rolls eyes heavenwards.

*wipes remnants of banana from shoulder.

so then, where do yer fancy wandering to ?

*smiles at sight of stevie bouncing up and down on jen's shoulder

21st May 2008, 18:42

jen says:

*decides to keep aracniphoebia to self*
*stays away from alan though is glad that babs has a friend too*
*pats stevie on head with fingertip*
why don't we wander over to that tor over there and see how we can wind our back to the mire?
*gives stevie another miniscule sandwich*

22nd May 2008, 22:18

babs says:

which tor jen??

getting back to the mire's easy peasy. You just look for the fiddle shaped beacon glowing in the dark. of course that means we have to travel by night .

*wonders addition of big f**k off sign to top most tower of lakeman towers.

*gives Alan a little piece of brie and a little bit of orange jelly for pudding.
*puts teeny tiny bit of fruit cake in Alan's unimaginably small rucksack in case he gets peckish on the journey.

That way I think.

*heads off for that tor over there.

23rd May 2008, 08:19

jen says:

*calls to babs*
carefull, it's a little windy (has to call as wind is carrying voice away)
*gives stevie miniscule blanket and a mini cup of hot chocolate*
*gives another to alan*
*wraps scarf around neck and continues up hill of tor*
*wonders of addition of a trail from blog to lakeman towers and signpost to make this journey easier*

23rd May 2008, 19:42

babs says:

cup your hands round your mouth jen, it'll make your voice carry further, it's been proved to work many times on blog.

*hopes stevie and alan don't spill hot chocolate.

*hopes alan doesn't put on weight after all these tasty treats as thinks trek to lakeman towers could be difficult enough without having heavy chum on shoulder..

*trails after jen up hill and wonders if a big climb is imminent or if a walk round it is on the cards.

do you know jen, there used to be a well worn path from blog to mire ,but months of neglect have left it covered in bracken and sheep truddles.

*said with hands cupped around mouth to help jen hear it better.

23rd May 2008, 19:52

Emma says:

I'm not joining in again until we find out about the competition to win a free gig.

That's lying that is and you know what happens to little boys who lie?

They get spanked and sent to bed without any supper.

24th May 2008, 00:22

babs says:

if he's a very lucky boy.

damn it all Emma , i've mangaged all this time not to be rude on the blog . now my inagination is running riot .

24th May 2008, 00:56

babs says:

do you mean the competition mentioned back in september on the website round about 27th september, was it that one , the one where you could win a gig by himself and a signed album and a signed ep ?? no,don't know anything about that.

NEVER put spanked and bed in the same sentence on the blog, I'll get my nervous twitch back.

24th May 2008, 01:01

jen says:

*wonders about this*
*is glad of third companion on this journey*
*continues up hill*
*cups hands to mouth and calls back to babs and emma*
I wonder whether the competition died?

24th May 2008, 17:59

babs says:

died??? it never even lived.

*realises didn't cup hands to mouth.

*cups hands to mouth

died??? it never even lived.

jen, i'm going to fashion a means of communication for us to save all this hand carry on.

*gets two tins of beans out of rucksack, own rucksack not Alan's as that would be silly as it's not big enough for two tins of beans.

*throws one to jen.

*cups hands to mouth

right jen, start eating.

*gets ball of string out of own rucksack in readiness.

*wonders if we'll make hill/tor top by nightfall.

24th May 2008, 19:54

jen says:

*munches on beans even though are cold*
*finishes the can*
*sets stevie inside to clean up the gloop*
*makes hole in end*
*also wonders whether will make it up hill*
*wonders whether babs and self will ever make it back to mire unscaved*
*wonders whether the Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman Phone will ever be used to put photos on here*
*realises that by standing here wondering no climbing up hill will happen*
*ponders the fact of whether babs has finished her own can of beans*
*makes sure stevie is safe on shoulder*

25th May 2008, 21:51

babs says:

*realises eating a whole tin of beans each could have serious repercussions but isn't worried as is walking on open moor in high wind.

maybe the photo taking button hasn't been located yet on the Sony Ericsson W810i, or maybe he has a new phone since the blog was started jen.

*climbs a bit .
*makes hole in own tin and threads string through both tins.

*realsises flaw in plan is fact that string is only approx 2 mtrs long and at that distance we can talk without having to do the hand cup mouth thing.
*decides to keep can/string arrangement so it can be used to bring down a sheep , a kind of boleadoras if you will, should we run out of supplies.

of course we can get back to the mire ,it's a doddle.
i have cleverly been leaving a trail of licorice allsorts since the day we escaped in October 2006-ish.
*gives Alan one of the ones with tiny blue bobbles on to keep him going.
would stevie like a sweety?

*loves the word "gloop"

26th May 2008, 10:49

babs says:

do you want to go back to the mire til the album/new blog pic comes out jen.?????

27th May 2008, 21:47

jen says:

Yes. AS soon as a new picture is spotted we'll trek back.
*sets up one of those devices that have a laser beam that once crossed sets off the alarm in wristwatch*
it should work at this distance. as soon as a new photo appears this'll be set off.
*asks stevie if he would like a sweet*
he says 'yes please'.
*is pleased with stevies good manners*
*digs out handy penknife in case it is needed for anyreason*
I'm not sure if it'll cut open a horse though if we suddenly get snowed upon.
*finally reaches top of tor*
*searches for a crevice of sorts that would provide shelter and hiding place during daytime*
*isn't sure why hiding is necessary*

27th May 2008, 22:16

babs says:

follow me then.

do you like licorice allsorts???
we don't have to eat them all , we could leave some to help us find our way back when the new pics appear.

*wonders why jen is wandering about on the top of the tor looking for hiding places.

*throws stevie one of the coconut ones.

off we go then, back to the mire.
hopefully the key will be under the pile of empty wine bottles next to the front door.

27th May 2008, 23:21

babs says:

by the way jen, Tom has made a brilliant start in the bathroom, everything came out yesterday, today he's starting the "putting it all back together " bit.
All looking good for Richard the tiler next week.
I've taken pics for my "before and after " montage should all else fail on here.

*continues trudging.

almost there.

28th May 2008, 12:06

jen says:

I don't mind licorice allsorts.
*is very grateful for sugary sustinence*
*trudges after babs*
*starts to hum following the leader*
*stevie bounces along to tune on shoulder*
If the keys not there we can just yell.

*is glad about the work on bathroom*
oooo, sounds good.
*actually wants to see pictures for some reason*
(lol smiley from mire goes here)

28th May 2008, 19:36

babs says:

no doubt maymay will heve left the door open in the rush to get to Buxton.

*is glad that Alan sits snug in his non -bounce little seat with rally suspension otherwise all the bouncing would cause him to throw up on shoulder.

I'll show you the pics when the whole thing is finished , (0:

*hums , I love to go a wandering ...

28th May 2008, 19:54

jen says:

*by this time humming has also involved the funny march thing*
*stevie is still bouncing along to tune*
*wonders why he isn't yet bored*
Is buxton tonight? Oh, no it's on...friday?
Will it take us that long to reach the mire?
*waits for pictures, babs bathroom or others of the young master*
hm, should I call him the young master, he is older than me...

28th May 2008, 21:40

babs says:

thuraday, Buxton's on thursday.

we should be at the mire almost immediatly.
I've actually been back and then popped back here .

i wish i had new pics of himself but i haven't , i'll have a look and see if there are any old ones. where he looks young.

It's no good jen, it's all over for the blog.
we haven't even got the new album cover to put on.

*gets twigs out of pocket and lights small fire for comfort.

*toasts a few licorice allsorts to keep spirits up.

28th May 2008, 22:08

jen says:

Isn't there not final artwork one that can be put on?
*wonders if can possibly get email to send pictures to moblog*
I'll try my parents one! Maybe it'll work on there....
*continues trudging in direction of mire*
*drops a toasted licorice allsort on trousers*

29th May 2008, 12:59
