I\'m sure you\'ll be fine - They seem to have a good balanced diet of predominantly non-meat food.

I never understand vegetarians. Have you just never tried fois gras or something?

That said, my Dad reckons pretending to be a veggie in the far east is usually a pretty good idea unless you like eating whole animal heads and unidentifiable internal organs.

And to think my stomach turned before I got to the part about animal heads...

The brain is a funny thing. I used to be a big red meat fan, I can\'t even bear to think of it now. I blame Tesco value sausages.

Seanee all of the books seem to think that it is a bit of a hassle. Historically China had to deal with a lot of poverty and they couldn't afford meat, but once they could afford it again they started eating everything. Meat is linked to status and to not have meat in a meal come across as cheap.

That said I am only repeating what I have read and I might be completely wrong... I shall let you know.

Helen, Tofu-tastic indeed, I can't wait. I'm also looking forward to Mock Duck, it's so wrong and yet so right.

Mat, Actually no I have not tried Fois gras. And I doubt very much that I wouldn't like it. There much be a reason that you meaties eat all that weird stuff, and I can only put it down to taste rather than you all being sadistic.
