"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there can be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." William Penn
Love your little sketches ..... and the final outcome, so intimate .... both with and without the mood lighting .... and that last pic (is that Yoko Ono with the shades ?) ....
Thanks Maggie, it\'s the OCD in me that means I have to sketch absolutely everything before I set out to create it. However, the place is really coming together now, and has a bright white feel during the day, and a warm glowy feel in the evening.
Yoko is actually my best friend from Uni, Debbie. We had to do a photoshoot and dress our friends up for portrait. I\'m sure she\'d be chuffed that 20 yrs later I have her portrait on my wall.
Thanks DN - most of the fruit of my labour is black paint dust up my nose. Well worth the effort though.
likey. very very much. i think we\'d have alot of fun trekking around interior design shops. from the drawing i thought you\'d bought yourself some panton chairs!
The chairs were originally my mum\'s, so they\'ve been doing the rounds since \'77. I do need some new chairs though, something curvy like the original sketch, so will have to hit the car bootys again.
Yeah, we could do an interior design tour sometime. I just need to sell my gran on Ebay to get some money first.
did you make the lightstand? it\'s funny, because your drawing of the table looks *exactly like my kitchen table.
I was originally thinking of buying a tulip table, either with a white or glass top, but it was too big for the space. In the end I took apart an existing round table I had and bolted half of it to the wall. The light is just a regular floorlamp from a store in the west end, it just fitted under the table so I shoved it under there for extra glowyness.
I still haven\'t got any heating in this place. That\'s me, always got my priorities in order.
MD - my books are filled with similar sketched, going over and over the design again and again, and then scribbling notes all over.
The content of that top sketch has spawned something new and very exciting. I can\'t say anything now, but I\'m incredibly excited about this new project.
it\'s easy peasy lemon squeezy
interior drawing is just a case of visualising your ideas, it doesn\'t have to be correct, it just allows you to see through your mind\'s eye what the idea will look like and how to achieve it
interior decorating is merely about being true to yourself and creating a space that reflects who you are and what is special to you. in my next place I am going to create an entire wall of my old 70s Superman comics.
Wow, I wait with bated breathe ..... please don\'t leave it too long before you reveal all, we are all waiting, and discussing what it may or may not be ... in fact you could say that we are having a mass debate ....
I envy the clean lines. In an old house like mine, nothing is straight.
It was easier to see on Facebook. If that\'s a bottle of Ravenswood I\'m going to be really excited

MTM - it\'s only ever Californian, you should know me well enough
