A 366-day pursuit in personal portraiture, presented by nige.
The challenge: to photograph, and post to this moblog, a portrait shot of myself, every single day, over the next year. Apparently, it's much harder than it sounds...
Perhaps more challenging: that i don't enjoy seeing my phizog in a photo at the best of times, and knowing that i'm probably going to annoy the hell out of the moblog community in doing this. So, sincere apologies in advance for this undertaking, but i just can't help myself. I promise to try and be creative, so you won't have to look at my mug every day.
Anyone interested in joining me? I think i'm probably going to need the company...

No no no! I don't want it to be over. But there will be some else, right?!
i've had a few ideas, so there will be something else. only thing i can say for sure is that it will be less frequent, and a different idea.
i will carry on taking a self portrait every day though. i just won't post here.
When you started this I sent you a link to a picture on flickr and dared you to do the same - you said I was on...
...so where's MY picture boy!!
i really can't believe it's been so long. quite a year.
steph, i have a feeling i know the one you mean, but have you got the link again? this means i'm going to have to shopping!
What OCD said
I was highly sceptical about this project to start with, but i think you've pulled it off in style.
thanks Jane. Sceptical how though? i know that quite a few people asked me lots of questions and seemed almost suspicious when i first said i'd be doing this.
I just thought it was very narcissistic and would be boring. In reality you've produced some of the most interesting shots I've ever seen on moblog. I think very few people could have pulled it off, I love what Tori and SLG did with it too, but I'm amazed that you have managed to be consistantly so good.
You're a pro ; )
some people do their best work with a gun to their head ... or having to produce one a day. You've done well Nige.
I'm envisioning the final picture now, a simultaneous explosion of champagne corks, fireworks, and cheerleaders chanting "ni - nel! ni - gel! ni - gel!"
bloody hell its been almost a year since it started?! i remember contemplating doing on when it all kicked off but the fact i couldnt even start the blog proves i would have failed in maintaining it!
great effort nige!
Gosh. I'm a little sad I failed, as so much has happened this year... but it would have all been shots of a very tired and spotty Helen.
Can't wait for the next project... bring it on!
thanks taniwha & vid. you could have documented that stressful last year of uni! should have done it!
Helen, it's a shame you didn't stick with it, because it became second nature to me after a while, and i went on autopilot. it might have worked that way for you too, and it is nice to look back on it all. as you say, so much has happened, and these kinds of blogs make you realise it so much more.
Steph, OK! *wheels turning...
Nearly a year already! I've been getting used to the daily Nige and will miss it when it stops :( But looing forward to the next thing(s) whatever that/they may be.
Very well done :)
gosh. now you're making me feel nostalgic and wish i did document it all now!
maybe i may do it when i get something new in my life like a proper job or something.....ooooh who knows! the suspense!
ahaha alsooo! that pic steph want you to do, i saw a random pic on google image once of someone using a big box to be sponebob squarepants. awesome idea!!
it's been so much fun for all of us. you have been resourceful, inventive, funny, and such an interesting photographer. I will miss them.
thank you.
It has been amazing. Like Jane D, I had my reservations at the start, but this has been a real inventive photographic journey through a year in the life of one of moblog's most colourful characters. I think your creativity has increased exponentially .... I will be sorry to see it end ... I hope you go out in a blaze of glory :)
Will be commenting on the other 365ers later .... so much talent, so much entertainment :)
ahh maggie, thats so sweet. i've had a great time doing it. i think i'll save my final comments for the last post, but it has certainly been a journey...
