See, looks so cute, vicious beast inside.

Sprocket - I didn't have much choice. The rabbit wasn't going to live, Lemmy was clearly was out of ideas on how to kill it (for some reason it didn't occur to him to shake it, unlike when he's 'caught' a sock or something). So it was either going to die painfully over several hours, or quickly and relatively painlessly under my dull-but-heavy knife.

I could have shot it, but the dog was nearby and I don't want him starting to think guns are cool.

Borris shakes things to death when he can be bothered to catch them..

Then he shakes them some more..

Then a bit more..

Then keeps shaking them until they start to fall apart.

Then rolls in them.

This can be quite embarrassing when you are walking him on a Sunday morning and he is covered in the inside of an animal when a young family come walking past..

swamprose says:

just wondering..are the chickens penned in? they would be interesting dog chasing material.

13th Jul 2008, 14:03

mat says:

They have a fence, but they ignore it. They share the same (large) space, and there is a bit of chasing, but nothing serious.

It's interesting - Lemmy treats the hens like smaller dogs with lower status than him (ie, he initiates play, he always 'wins' dominance games). But, from watching the hens sorting out their own pecking order, I think they see him as a funny-looking hen - the back-of-neck mouthing that Lemmy does in play is the same place that they peck at each other in dominance establishment.

So, we have a puppy who thinks hens are dogs, and some hens who think the dog is a chicken. It's fun.

Lovely Lemmy showing that the spitz breeds are not all that far removed from their wolf heritage, even those bred down in size! Well done! :)

is that a samoyed or an american eskimo? how'd he catch it, chase it down or by surprise?

15th Mar 2009, 04:25

mat says:

Japanese spitz. Similar to American Eskimo.

Not sure how he caught it, probably a combination of the two.

this is disgusting. How can you sit there and take a picture of something so vile and cruel?

Fuck you.

29th Mar 2009, 22:53

mat says:

Oh, but he's so happy. How can making a small dog so happy be cruel?

What would have been cruel would be if I hadn't killed the rabbit quickly and cleanly, and had let it die slowly from it's injuries.

Only people are capable of being cruel, animals aren't. Dogs like to eat rabbits, and there are lots of rabbits in our garden - he's just doing his thing.

Fuck me indeed.

Lemmy must get this from his mum, she brings in pheasants, chickens etc. Plenty of them around, hardly going to become extinct anytime soon!!!

27th Apr 2009, 17:16

koshirou says:

hmm, you keep talking about how it would have been cruel not to kill it quick, well how about doing one of 3 things, 1. get a fence so the rabbits dont COME in in the first place,
2. teach 'lemmy' not to kill the rabbits
and trust me, its not that hard
or 3. keep that fatass inside or watch him when hes outside,

which u obviously were watching him if u knew when he caught the rabbit, so y didnt u just stop him before the injuries got too serious?

dont bother answering back because theres almost no chance im coming back o.o

also, in a previous comment you called him a small dog, i started cracking up, he is anything but small
