I grew up going on holidays to north cornwall, so weymouth was a bit of a culture shock. Arcades, piers, fish and chips, hut things on the beach (pictured). Lots of old people. In fact there was a WW2 reenactment going on one day. Vetrans everywhere, boats and guns.

My girlfriend used to go there as a kid and she says it hasn't really changed much.

They're little huts on the beach that people can hire out for the day/week. People keep their deck chairs/beach paraphanalia in them although I suspect that the main use is to keep out of the wind (and rain).
