These are random moments in the life of an indecent designer and the city she loves.

I am a female, carbon based lifeform.
I am a New York City Native.
I am a Design Professional.
I take photographs.
I also sculpt, paint, create mosaics, and play with weapons.

And sometimes, I even dance about Architecture.

Well that's no good then is it?

bronxelf says:

I know, right? I mean they were in front of the school across the street, that could have been prime for serious mayhem.

The guy behind the wheel was reading a Daily News, so I can't imagine anything was in danger of immediately exploding.

Lyzardly says:

While the guy from the Daily News may not have actually been in any danger... I'm sure his headline will read
"Brave Daily News Reporter Risks LIFE AND LIMB for the TRUTH!"

or some shit of a similar viscosity...

bronxelf says:

No no. The guy behind the wheel (the fireman) was *reading* a Daily News.

Please, I don't think a Daily News reporter has been up here in at least two years.

Oh, that's what I get for speed reading/typing when the boss comes back into the office. :)

And I thought I was so clever. Damn.

The roof... the roof... the roof is...

Last sunday, I honked at a reckless BMW driver... He overtook me at a (red) stoplight (and ran it in the process), and did all kinds of reckless maneuvers... It was only after I had honked and shaken my fist at him that I saw a little sign on his roof: "Feuerwehr im Einsatz" - firefghter in effort (employment? oi... Anyway, he was on the way to the fire station because there was a fire somewhere)... I felt SO bad... :/

5th Apr 2005, 23:07

bronxelf says:

Perhaps they need to invest in larger signs?

Or issue the portable flashing lights like they do here. they plug into the car's lighter and are magnetically held to the roof.

5th Apr 2005, 23:37

daz says:

Well the guy was a volunteer firefighter. They can't legally use the flashing lights on the roof around here... ;/ They also have to drive recklessly at their own risk... I.e. they are encouraged to get to the station ASAP, but if they cause an accident in the process, they themselves are responsible for it. Sucks big time, if you ask me.

bronxelf says:

Sounds a bit ass backwards but I dont know what the rules are for volunteer firefighters here. I can ask my friend Dana-- he was a VF for a long time.

5th Apr 2005, 23:42

daz says:

My male best friend, is a VF, too, that's why I know all that stuff.. It may very well be backwards, must of stuff like that is backwards in Germany... D:
