I took this last April. Guess what? Street looks the same now. Just saving
myself the shot.

That's a really lovely shot. Not taken in the middle of NYC, though, was it?

Geodyne says:

It's so unlike I'd think NY would look. But it's still lovely.

bronxelf says:

Yep. That's NYC. Right outside my front door, looking left to the corner.

bronxelf says:

well I think The Bronx *is* gorgeous. But then again I have lived here a long time and know where to look. :)

Thank you!

Joe says:

it looks just like Leeds in summer :)

bronxelf says:

trust me, aint no one wanna be in NYC in summer. I can barely stand it and I love it here.

Lyzardly says:

Speaking of your street... don't touch the raccoons!

540air says:

Why's NYC so bad in the summer bronx?

26th Apr 2005, 13:51

bronxelf says:

lyz- were you mugged by a raccoon onna way out?

540- nyc is hot as hell and humid in high summer.

26th Apr 2005, 13:55

Lyzardly says:

No I wasn't mugged, by any vermin - four-legged or otherwise.

However, two people in the Riverdale area have been bit by rabid raccoons in the past couple days.

So don't touch 'em. They've got crazy eyes!

26th Apr 2005, 13:57

540air says:

Oh ok. I've only been there once, last year in January. My flight home was cancelled due to the snow and it was freezing!!

As a side note, should I ever need a job as a tourist guide, I know my way round JFK really well now!! :)

bronxelf says:

lyz- reason #4,372,461 I am happy I don't live in Riverdale. not that I needed any others...

540- we get brutal cold and sticky heat here. april, may, sept., oct. are the best times to be here. december is tourist season. now if they'd only issue hunting licenses...

26th Apr 2005, 14:46

Lyzardly says:

I realize you don't live in Riverdale - but it's close enough that a few stray rabid vermin may creep your way isn't it?

26th Apr 2005, 14:49

bronxelf says:

they might, but I'm betting they largely won't cross the deegan and the mosholu parkway extention.

26th Apr 2005, 14:56

Lyzardly says:

Well, if you see any, especially during the day - DON'T TOUCH THEM!

That rabies shot they give you hurts like a bitch.

26th Apr 2005, 15:01

bronxelf says:

fine standard advice. thankfully the most I've seen lately has been squirrels. :)
