Euphro says:

What time should we tune in? :D

28th Apr 2005, 10:31

Joe says:

ooo yes! I forgot about this......(i'm gonna record it :D)

28th Apr 2005, 10:33

540air says:

Gonna have to listen to that ;D
(Whilst wearing my "anti-matattack vest")

28th Apr 2005, 10:35

Euphro says:

I'll be in the car then and I can get Radio Norfolk (it's worth dying for) :D

28th Apr 2005, 10:35

Hotdog says:

I'll be listening

28th Apr 2005, 10:37

mat says:

I hate you all. :)

28th Apr 2005, 10:39

daz says:

Joe: I'd be delighted if you could send me an mp3 version of the recording... I have a demonstration to attend. :)

28th Apr 2005, 10:40

Hotdog says:

Oh, and lets have a nice easy link to the feed
www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/norfolk.shtml

That will do :)

28th Apr 2005, 10:43

mat says:

*shakes fists ineffectually*

I knew I should have kept this quiet(er)... :)

28th Apr 2005, 10:44

alexis says:

I'll send a postcard or something to anyone who can provide me with a decently recorded copy of this. (I'm hoping I'll be asleep by then)

28th Apr 2005, 10:45

daz says:

*seconds alexis' offer*

28th Apr 2005, 10:46

Euphro says:

Why do the BBC insist on using RealPlayer :(

28th Apr 2005, 10:46

mat says:

Joe - if you're StreamRipping this, send me the mp3 (or a uri) when you're done and I'll host it on here, save your bandwidth...

28th Apr 2005, 10:48

Joe says:

no problem....I shall do that.
*goes to find RM recorder

28th Apr 2005, 10:52

alexis says:

joe, save the mp3 in case mat is just saying that to prevent wide distribution of said mp3....

28th Apr 2005, 10:54

seaneeboy says:

Lovely - I've recently been downloading radio shows to my ipod - really works well.

28th Apr 2005, 10:55

Joe says:

haha!...I will make triple backups...

28th Apr 2005, 10:57

540air says:

Ooo Joe, could you email me a copy incase I miss it on the school run? Cheers :)

28th Apr 2005, 11:13

Hotdog says:

And as a backup I'll make a recording as well :)

28th Apr 2005, 11:16

alexis says:

I am so unkillable. I am in zombie-no-sleep-i-ate-my-own-brain mode....

and, in response to you hating us all... yes, we all hate you too. : D
and by "hate" I mean "not hate".

28th Apr 2005, 11:21

Joe says:

ok the recording software is set up...I just have to click go...

28th Apr 2005, 11:25

mat says:

"I am so unkillable."

*enjoys a challenge* :)

28th Apr 2005, 11:25

crazyb says:

You want us all to listen really!

So what you talking about then Mat?!

28th Apr 2005, 11:29

Rich says:

heh, I'm going to be listening in, probably with a whole bunch of my office also. EXCITING JUST AIN'T THE WORD.

...If they ask you for a record request, may I suggest the charming ballad Ass & Titties by sensetive balladeer DJ Assault?

28th Apr 2005, 11:30

seaneeboy says:

Or one of the early symphonies by NWA?

28th Apr 2005, 11:31

mat says:

That reminds me - must turn my phone off in case some NEARBY WAG NOT LOOKING AT YOU RICHARD (who knows my ringtone) decides to phone while I'm near a live mic....

28th Apr 2005, 11:34

alexis says:

; ) (don't think it'd be much of a challenge, I'm in zombie-mode, and probably larger/taller than you)

28th Apr 2005, 11:40

alexis says:

and, by the way, congratulations, you! on the whole interview thing...
(you nervous or anything?)

28th Apr 2005, 11:43

Euphro says:

I hope we see a surge in new mobloggers. It was the BBC who got me here in the first place :D

28th Apr 2005, 11:46

Rich says:

We might see a surge in new Norfolk mobloggers, fer shure, but seeing as the majority of the audience for radio Norfolk is elderly and rural, probably not.

No Mat, leave your phone on. It'll be great.

28th Apr 2005, 11:54

540air says:

How so Euphro?

28th Apr 2005, 11:55

ookiine says:

RECORD IT FOR US! I think I'll be at work when that's on...

28th Apr 2005, 12:05

Euphro says:

540air: I came across a reference to moblogging in a BBC News web article and googled it. This was the first or second hit that came up :D

28th Apr 2005, 12:14

kel says:

Hello Norfolk! (sorry, but I can't hear the words BBC Radio Norfolk in anything but a Alan Partridge voice.)

Fame at last, good luck mat. I want to hear it!

28th Apr 2005, 12:20

seaneeboy says:

Euphro - that's how I got here too :)

28th Apr 2005, 12:22

540air says:

I guess mine's bbc related too. I first stumbled across moblog after watching "flashmob: the opera" on bbc3. I looked it up the next day, from there found the flashmob site, which in turn led me here. :)

28th Apr 2005, 12:50

Euphro says:

I hadn't come across the specific phenomenon of flashmobs before (googled it) although I know the concept in the form of Larry Niven's original short story and, of course, the Slashdot effect :D

28th Apr 2005, 12:53

neel says:

*gasp!*

Stuck in "work", but I'd love to grab an empee3 off of someone, deffo.

It's only one step away from Desert Island Discs, mat!

28th Apr 2005, 13:00

Helen says:

Can you get Radio Norfolk through Sky? This listening to the radio on dial-up thingy is not so much fun.

I suppose I should just go and check the Sky listings...

28th Apr 2005, 13:14

Euphro says:

Hmm, what would be some good questions... ?

28th Apr 2005, 13:14

Joe says:

mwahahahaha!

28th Apr 2005, 13:14

neel not-logged-in says:

And our messages of adoring praise, natch.

28th Apr 2005, 13:14

Helen says:

Anyone listening to Radio Norfolk right now? Any idea what's going on?

28th Apr 2005, 13:15

neel still-not-logged-in says:

I love the fact that mat's sharing the bill with Norfolk's entertainment scene, the car boot sale and the infuriating Find the Five competition. Classic.

28th Apr 2005, 13:16

seaneeboy says:

local radio at its best neel
;)

28th Apr 2005, 13:17

Helen says:

Oooh the radio's working quite well now.

I love this station!

28th Apr 2005, 13:18

Helen says:

They've just described Moblog as an 'international artistic community'.

28th Apr 2005, 13:32

540air says:

HAHA And the music just ROCKS!! ;P

28th Apr 2005, 13:46

seaneeboy says:

I think my moblog is closer to autistic than artistic...

28th Apr 2005, 13:46

540air says:

Are they really talking about mattresses????

28th Apr 2005, 13:47

Rich says:

Almost certainly. Back when I was a wee lad I was once on for about half an hour talking about how I was going to be the first man to land on the sun. They really have pretty low standards.

28th Apr 2005, 13:56

Euphro says:

*reluctantly and sullenly goes about Realplayer installation*

28th Apr 2005, 13:56

Joe says:

I didn't realise you where the first man on the sun Rich...thats quite a claim to fame.

28th Apr 2005, 13:57

bronxelf says:

Joe if you record it can you throw it my way later?

28th Apr 2005, 14:02

540air says:

Wow Rich, sun travel, cool ;)

28th Apr 2005, 14:03

Joe says:

of course Belf...you do know you can listen live though?....

28th Apr 2005, 14:05

Rich says:

I also once won the Toothbrush Trivia challenge, which was a very hotly contested prize at the time, plus I won the 12" of Black's Wonderful Life single. I also have more signed photos of Partridge life-model Roy Waller than anyone could possibly need. (one)

28th Apr 2005, 14:05

crickson says:

If there are mp3 copies going round, please can i have one from someone?

'Ta!

28th Apr 2005, 14:06

Joe says:

I'll put a link up as soon as I've encoded it...I think mat is going to host a copy from moblog as well.

28th Apr 2005, 14:07

bronxelf says:

I don't know if I can be at the kb right then. I am madly cleaning the house-- friend coming in from Little Rock tomorrow. She's never been to NYC before.

28th Apr 2005, 14:07

Rich says:

Well, you can sit down and explain that you simply had to be listening to British regional radio at the time. After all, how else are you going to find out where the really good car boot sales are in Swaffham?

28th Apr 2005, 14:09

Helen says:

Heh, imagine! Listening to Radio Naaaaarfolk in New Jork!

28th Apr 2005, 14:10

bronxelf says:

So wait it's like in ten minutes time, then?

28th Apr 2005, 14:20

Hotdog says:

Yep

About 10mins

28th Apr 2005, 14:20

bronxelf says:

aww fuck it.

*sits down and tunes in*

28th Apr 2005, 14:21

540air says:

If only Radio Norfolk knew what it was letting itself in for ;)
Is anyone going to phone in?

28th Apr 2005, 14:28

bronxelf says:

Well at least they're playing Bowie.

28th Apr 2005, 14:31

Euphro says:

The number is now in my mobile. I have to go in a few minutes but I will be listening on the road :D

28th Apr 2005, 14:31

bronxelf says:

They cut the song? They. Cut. The. Song.

*boggle*

28th Apr 2005, 14:32

Helen says:

They know not what they have done.

28th Apr 2005, 14:35

bronxelf says:

Nah, all they did was prove that UK radio is as crappy as US radio.

Cept theyre smart enough to have mat on. :D :D :D

28th Apr 2005, 14:36

Groovicron says:

I'm glad I'm listening to this and not one of the multitude of unoffical elton john radio stations in norfolk.

Is mat actually gonna be on or is it just a cunning plan to make us listen to awful radio?

28th Apr 2005, 14:37

bronxelf says:

I thought the same thing "How many radio stations are there and are they really *competing* for this title?

28th Apr 2005, 14:38

540air says:

If anyone's got a question they want me to ask, I don't mind ringing up. Just can't think of one myself :)

28th Apr 2005, 14:38

bronxelf says:

I cant think of a decent question to save my ass. I'd just be giggling and waving madly, mostly.

28th Apr 2005, 14:39

540air says:

woooo go mat!! :D

28th Apr 2005, 14:40

Groovicron says:

Woo mat. Nice interview.

28th Apr 2005, 14:51

bronxelf says:

WOOOOOHOOOO!!!!! Go mat! Go mat!

*cheers wildly*

:D

28th Apr 2005, 14:51

Hotdog says:

Great Interview
Well done Mat :)

28th Apr 2005, 14:51

seaneeboy says:

Well done - the nerves were there to start, but you settled in really quickly :)

28th Apr 2005, 14:52

Rich says:

More likely pre-interview bifter slowness, if I know our Mat. So we're officially an artistic community now, eh?

28th Apr 2005, 14:54

Helen says:

According to the BBC and who are we to argue with the BBC.

I have a GCSE in art, y'know?

28th Apr 2005, 15:02

bronxelf says:

I have both a music and an art degree, but I still take a lot of photos of my cats.
*shrug*
Helen: your cats are much more artistic. :)

28th Apr 2005, 15:04

Helen says:

If sleeping and killing are art forms.

28th Apr 2005, 15:12

bronxelf says:

Well certainly the latter is.

28th Apr 2005, 15:18

Laszlo Q. V. St-J. Xalieri says:

Extra points if you can kill people in your sleep.

[*]

28th Apr 2005, 15:34

bronxelf says:

*NOW* you're talking.

28th Apr 2005, 15:38

ookiine says:

WOOOOOOOOOOT!

29th Apr 2005, 02:26
