The control key on mine has been knacked since our neice dribbled on it about a year ago. Can't be arsed to get it replaced.
Hehe - with a lot of swearing until I got a new 5-button mouse... so now one of them is my ctrl key :)
my keyboard is rubbish too!! the "o" button hardly works, nor does the enter button.
grrrr!!! I can't replace it because then i'd have to buy a new laptop :-(
you can?! ooh.but i know the reason my buttons don't work is because the rubber that presses the sensitive bit it wonky and doesn't hit it..if that makes sense.
hmmmm.
I managed to replace my iBook keyboard. The whole keyboard bit came out and a new one was put on.
spongevid - It's called the membrane, and they're totally replaceable :)
aaah. well i'm a newbie to broken keyboards. i will investigate this - thank you helen and seaneeboy!
Isn't it ironic, Euphro, that your Moblog is packed full of the most beautiful pictures of Antartic wastelands and it is this picture that gets a mention on the radio?
It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a fork.
You never actually need a fork. I hear they don't use them at all in Brazil.
Probably, It was really tricky to clean, though. (actually, there is still some of it under the ALT GR key)
Helen: As Joyce put it: "the ineluctable modality of being" or, for the rest of us, "that's life" :D
New keyboard should be here today though, yay!
I too hate my keyboard...I bought a cordless one and occasionally it just types random characters on it's own... :o ...quite scary when I'm sat there on my own late at night.
That's why I refuse to get a cordless keyboard wth my Mac Mini (if I ever end up buying it... car is in need of some repairs my dad probably can't do... *sighs*).
That's MY keyboard! And it survived having a whole mug of tea spilt on it a while ago, so I love it very much ; )
One key has come off my Packard Bell Notebook and I can't work out how to get it back on - maybe its broken. Can you replace individual keys on laptops?
If it was a Thinkpad, I'd say definitely yes. For other manufacturers I'd be a lot less sure :)
