bronxelf says:

Thanks. :) Lucky shot- I didnt have my tripod. I was walking up Park Avenue with Anathemad in December. :)

29th Apr 2005, 11:53

crickson says:

I always like streaky light effects.

29th Apr 2005, 11:54

bronxelf says:

Now that I carry the tripod around I can replicate that more consistently. :) Thank you!

29th Apr 2005, 11:55

anathemad says:

That was the day I got to hear you sing *swoon*

29th Apr 2005, 12:51

anathemad says:

erm.. forgot to login sorry

29th Apr 2005, 12:52

bronxelf says:

Funny, when that came in? I *was* singing.

"Someone to Watch Over Me" was on. You know I can't *possibly* resist that.

29th Apr 2005, 12:53

bronxelf says:

so'k. I knew who it was. I fixed it. I know who I was with that day. :)

29th Apr 2005, 12:53

Euphro says:

Lovely shot, and very impressive for handheld :)

29th Apr 2005, 13:34

bronxelf says:

Thank you. Sheer luck, I assure you. I was shocked when I saw the photo when I got home that night. I remembered to shoot like I shoot in archery-- between heartbeats.

29th Apr 2005, 13:36

Euphro says:

I love that kind of shot. It's like a present (my one of the dolphin gull was like that). Thanks for the tip about heartbeats, and I really. must. get. a. tripod. :)

29th Apr 2005, 13:46

bronxelf says:

I carry around a cheap ultralight. It's of no use in a wind or a big crowd (too light), but I carry it *everywhere* and it only cost me $17USD

But yeah, if you find yourself without one, just shoot between heartbeats. This way you get less camera shake.

29th Apr 2005, 13:48

kostika says:

Fantastic shot. Feels so big city to me. Nice work.

29th Apr 2005, 14:37

bronxelf says:

Thank you. :) The east side in Midtown tends to look very big city. This was taken on Park Avenue, walking uptown towards Grand Central Station.

29th Apr 2005, 14:39

kostika says:

One of these days I will get to NY. I love big cities.

29th Apr 2005, 14:42

befny says:

See? This is what I loved about staying with you for a week. I KNOW that corner. We were THERE.

Playing from home is so much more enjoyable after having been an onscreen contestant.

29th Apr 2005, 15:02

kostika says:

What kind of camera was that taken with?

29th Apr 2005, 15:28

bronxelf says:

A nikon coolpix 5400.

29th Apr 2005, 15:33

kostika says:

Thought it might be digital. But didn't look as obviously digital as alot of pictures do. Very nice work.

29th Apr 2005, 15:38

bronxelf says:

Thanks. :)

This one honestly was pure luck. I was shocked at how well it came out myself.

29th Apr 2005, 15:42

cassiusdrow says:

I love that shot. The angles, the motion, that one guy that didn't move. It's just great!

29th Apr 2005, 15:45

bronxelf says:

I chalk it up to Misha's being with me at the time. :)

29th Apr 2005, 15:46

anathemad says:

I do try to spread the luck around. And if these are the results I am all the more pleased

29th Apr 2005, 16:02

kostika says:

So where can I get my lucky Misha's foot?

29th Apr 2005, 16:05

bronxelf says:

well you *were* standing right next to me at the time....

29th Apr 2005, 16:06

anathemad says:

Hey, I need both my feet. I fall down enough as it is. Anyway I think the luck grows with my hair, cause I got TONS of hair and luck to match.

29th Apr 2005, 16:18

bronxelf says:

gee I wish I got luck with *my* hair...

29th Apr 2005, 16:19

Euphro says:

Any chance of an audio file of you singing? :)

29th Apr 2005, 16:21

bronxelf says:

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH

no.

Misha: Dont. You. Even. THINK. about getting him to con me into it. I can read your mind from here.

29th Apr 2005, 16:22

bronxelf says:

Y'all have no shot.

Nuh uh.

29th Apr 2005, 16:27

Lyzardly says:

There's a simple recipe to getting to hear Bronxelf to sing:

Take one Bronxelf
Add any number of CDs (Top recommnedations included Boingo and Dar Williams)

That's all, quite simple.

29th Apr 2005, 16:28

anathemad says:

I got one line in person. While I would love it I doubt it is possible without getting him to do it. And I love you too much to play that card.

I guess a better question would be if you have any old recordings you'd share.

29th Apr 2005, 16:28

bronxelf says:

No. That's not singing. That's messing around.

SINGING is something quite else. Really. :D

29th Apr 2005, 16:28

bronxelf says:

I'd have to dig up old recordings. Theyre pretty buried, honestly. I havent had any use for them in years. I do have a few though. I just dont know *where*.

But as to a new recording? I am SO off the hook on this one. :D

29th Apr 2005, 16:33

Euphro says:

I'll sing too if we can have a shared blog :D

29th Apr 2005, 16:34

bronxelf says:

No, that's serious. I really dont know where they are. My living room looks like a storage facility exploded.

As to a new recording? Nope. I'm not a singer anymore.

29th Apr 2005, 16:35

Euphro says:

Once a singer...

29th Apr 2005, 16:35

bronxelf says:

Euphro: Have fun with that. :) *waves*

29th Apr 2005, 16:36

Euphro says:

How you gonna get of this ship then, huh?

29th Apr 2005, 16:36

Euphro says:

#There's a somebody I'm longing to see...#

29th Apr 2005, 16:38

bronxelf says:

Me? I gotta to to LaGuardia. I gotta pick up Sunfell in an hour and fifteen.

I'll loan ya my good sennheiser mics if I can figure out where I put *those*.

29th Apr 2005, 16:38

bronxelf says:

Nope.

29th Apr 2005, 16:38

Euphro says:

Every good picture doesn't need a Hasselblad :D

29th Apr 2005, 16:39

bronxelf says:

true. But really, REALLY. You're very sweet, but no. I really can't. Honestly.

switching to boingo. going to airport.

29th Apr 2005, 16:41

alfie says:

shes right, therell be no singing here tonight. itll be when we have some kind of mad transatlantic meetup in a bar straight out of a lynch movie populated with dwarves serving highballs of blue drinks, and the mood is just jazz .It will happen though.

30th Apr 2005, 03:11

bronxelf says:

*eyes you suspiciously*

*looks at Misha*

Oh SOMEONE is in trouble.

30th Apr 2005, 03:13

anathemad says:

I'm drunk. You love me anyway.

30th Apr 2005, 03:15

bronxelf says:

You are in SUCH trouble.

Just WAIT until Cassius gets up. Ha.

30th Apr 2005, 03:17

anathemad says:

Uh huh. He does not scare me. I can feed him till he is calm. *You* scare me.

30th Apr 2005, 03:19

bronxelf says:

as well I should.

And you know I have a *very* long memory.

*raised eyebrow*

30th Apr 2005, 03:21

anathemad says:

Ok, now you are just turning me on ;)

30th Apr 2005, 03:23

bronxelf says:

Color me shocked.

not.

30th Apr 2005, 03:23

anathemad says:

It would not be any fun if you were shocked. You would not have time to plan. And oh, how I love your plans!

30th Apr 2005, 03:25

bronxelf says:

*adds another plot to the list*

30th Apr 2005, 03:26

anathemad says:

*squeels with delight*

I love it when you plot.

*Thinks of another way to poke you with a stick from across the Hudson*

30th Apr 2005, 03:28

bronxelf says:

Doesnt matter. Not singing. i don't sing anymore in front of people. Cats do not count, and boo is deaf anyway.

30th Apr 2005, 03:42

anathemad says:

All the worse for the ears of the world.

30th Apr 2005, 03:50

bronxelf says:

*shrug* There's plenty of people better than I am. It's just not what I do anymore.

30th Apr 2005, 03:52

Takashi's ex-wife (really) says:

fantstic shot! love the way you have captured the rhythm of the street; movement, stillness lighting. Living abroad and missing NYC this image makes me smile. Is it Park and 38?

21st Sep 2005, 00:11

bronxelf says:

Holy mackerel. Well...Hi. How's London?

Actually this is....well yeah. About Park and 38th. :)

21st Sep 2005, 00:13

bronxelf says:

Really I just got lucky with the camera that day.

21st Sep 2005, 00:16

bronxelf says:

Well I'm quite flattered. I'm sure I have a high-resolution version of it somewhere as well. I took it with my Nikon.

21st Sep 2005, 00:20

bronxelf says:

Sure. I just need to figure out where in my hard drives it's taken up residence.

21st Sep 2005, 00:27

bronxelf says:

I havent looked for it yet.

I've been a little busy with WNA, my house, and my design thesis tonight.

21st Sep 2005, 03:21

bronxelf says:

*shrug*

21st Sep 2005, 03:26

bronxelf says:

Night.
