Down by the river

I found the little fellow while walking along the river this evening. His whole family walked over him getting into the water, then swam off. He was limp and half dead, but once I got him home and dried him off, he started to perk up. He still can't stand up, but he's kicking around, and chirping.

I knew it was a long shot when I found him, but for a while I really thought he was going to pull through.

He started getting weaker as it got later, and he died around 11pm.

I think the problem was with his neck. He could move it, but it was obviously injured.
