I found iTunes to be very intuitive, hardly screwing up my system at all :)

Yeah, well, when I first installed it on my Windows PC, it screwed up ("re-organized") my ENTIRE mp3 folder... So I had to make it iTunes-proof last night in anticipation of synching the folder with my soon-to-arrive new iMac! :D

Nightmare!

But yay for iMac!

It was a nightmare, yes. But this time, I'll be prepared.

How many files did you have to retag?

daz- you can check/uncheck the "keep my files organized" bit in the preferances.

i keep mine unchecked because I'm a slob, but, also, I listen to a lot of stuff on a one-few time basis, and don't want it mixed in with music to keep.

Mat: I think maybe 150. I used a batch re-tagger, though, so it wasn't THAT bad.

Alexis: I will do that, even though I have ALL my files properly tagged now. It was just annoying when it happened a year ago. Haven't touched iTunes since, especially since it's so resource-consuming on windows pcs.
