how did you make the lid stay stiff? Is it edible?
I have been trying to make a coffin cake for my boy's 30th bday. so glad to see it can be done. good job!

If you go back an entry, Hexya, you'll see an image from my fridge that shows a cardboard mold. The lid and sides of the coffin were made of solid chocolate.
I cut out the shape of the cake on a foamcore stencil and used that same piece to make the lid so it would be exactly the same size and shape as the cake. I molds for each individual side panel, melted chocolate, lined the mold with saran wrap carefully and poured the chocolate in, then let it cool in the fridge.
