Attempted break-in

Someone tried to get into our office over the holiday weekend. Didn't work. We have an alarm and surveillance anyway. And another big locked, alarmed door holds all our really expensive equipment. Landlord put this plate on, but we're probably going to get dead-bolts on the 2 entrances anyway.

As our office was the only one messed with in the building, they think we were targeted.

You got lucky-- you were hit by amateurs. Professionals would have taken that lock setup apart in about 5 minutes. Whoever hit you guys just didnt come prepared with the right tools.

Deadbolt it. I suggest medeco or mul-t locks.

The cops said that there have been a bunch of break-ins in office buildings in the area, and they think some of the cleaning companies are casing the places.

No way a random thief would know about the hardware we have bolted into our rack. But there's no easy way to get the really stuff out of the rack (or the rack out of the building) before the cops (or me, as I live 15 minutes away) get there, unless you are prepared for heavy lifting. Definitely amatures.
