I make things on the web, mobile and in the actual world.

I've done lots of bits and bobs over the years, and right now I'm mostly working on this.

I enjoy speaking about things I like, most recently this. You can email me if you'd like, and I'm on twitter.

Scientology Stress Test.

I saw this happening on the street outside the Scientology shop in Goodge street, scientologists set up shop outside the store offering "Stress Tests" with the famed dianetics Emeter. Scary and still very amusing stuff. Scientologists scare me.

"Dianetics** announced the discovery of a previously unknown and harmful part of the mind which contains many recordings of past experiences of loss, pain and unconsciousness in the form of mental image pictures. These exist below a person's level of awareness and collectively accumulate to comprise what is called the Reactive Mind -- the source of all unwanted fears, emotions, pains and psychosomatic illnesses.Step-by-step, auditing addresses the Reactive Mind until its previously unknown content is uncovered and its harmful effects over an
individual are erased. When such occurs, one has achieved a new state
of being that in Scientology is called Clear. One's basic and
fundamental personality, his artistry, personal force and individual"
character, his inherent goodness and decency, are all restored.

thats about the long and short of it. I knew someone once in South Africa who got took in by them, and eventually, once all his money and ability to contribute outside of just staffing their shops dissapeared, they told him there was no way he could progress any further. Still, even though he was resentful and bitter, he will defend the premise and practice of the 'religion'. Most likely to defend his involvement with it in the first place of course.

There's a big Church of Scientology in the main strip of downtown in my city. They offer those stress tests outside other business all over town.

I saw a documentary once about Scientology. It creeped me out.

amandarin- that's horrible. I hope your friend's doing ok.

Does anyone else find the number of high profile scientologists a bit scary? Still, it meant John Travolta wasted MILLIONS on Battlefield Earth. Heh heh. That's one less jet plane for you, Travolta.

I once had a biology teacher who was a born again Christian and thought he should be teaching us about original sin.

How did the religion ever function without this stress test? I'm sure it took some time to make.

Maybe they used cups with strings attached...

Andy says:

if you actually took the time to open your mind and learn some of its teachings about the human spirit then you would see that scientology is a religion.

Before you start mentioning xenu and other such incidents consider the fact that most of the world believe there is an invisible man in the sky watching them, now thats just as crazy as anything else.
