I am married to Spiderbaby and live in Banbury, Oxfordshire after eight years living in the USA and Sweden. I am working and training as a clinical scientist for the NHS in Oxford.

There are now over ten years of photographs on my blog! It all started with a photograph I took on the 1st of May 2004... It's been a wonderful journey, thank you all who have shared it with me, and made this blogging community one I keep coming back to!

Interesting things I read recently:

"Only one in five people born [in the UK] since 1975 believes in God".
Source: Prof David Voas, University of Essex

"For every dollar invested in the Human Genome project, $141 was returned to the US economy". Francis Collins, NIH
Source: New Scientist 27 July 2013.

I am Pavlovs_dog on PSN and would be happy to link up with Playstation-owning mobloggers : )

Too Much Information: The first album I ever bought was the Fraggle Rock soundtrack. Pretty cool, eh? I was only 16 : )

Are we still on for meeting? Is it this weekend?

Hasn't the cricket been fantastic!

It's next weekend! Tor still doesn't know if she'll make it. Suran and Tina are coming, have tried and tried to get hold of Aaron but have had no luck - I'm not sure if the mobile number I have for him is still current. Ros might be coming - who knows? I still have no firm plans for the weekend beyond drinking!

Andy says:

Excellent, it looks like I'll have to dash to Sheffield on Saturday morning to look at a few possible places to move to. But I'll be there for Friday night and Saturday night, Sunday lunch.

Have a nice weekend!!!!

Ooo - have you found a job in Sheffield, then?

Drinking sounds good. Having said that, I've been back in England for 2 days, and have gone out drinking the last... erm... 2 days. Not good. Anyway, will be great to meet up with everyone. It's a pity you can't get hold of Aaron though. Hope Tor can make it as she's being crap and didn't turn up to the pub on Friday.

Oh, and unfortunately forgot to bring back any New World vegetables for you :(

Goddamnit! What would Queen Elizabeth I do with you?

Did you get back in time for the terrorism?

Andy says:

No job news as of yet. But I am moving to Sheffield by mid-September so a place to live would still be handy!!

I'll be up Friday night, coming via Leciester. Although the car is in the garage at the moment - but should be fixed soon.

See you in a bit. I'm still keen bean for a BBQ.

If the weather holds out we'll see what we can do. You can buy cheap BBQ stands from the supermarket, plus a disposable grill-thing... should be do-able.

Due to work and transport issues, Tor is no longer joining us : (

Tor is totally rubbish. She's the new Aaron.

Crickson; managed to just get the aftermath of the bombs. The trains were all screwed up, which is exactly not what you want after a 12 hour flight. Having said that, I'm glad I didn't land on the Thursday. The bastards. It also meant that the pub we went to that night was totally dead.

BBQ sounds good to me. It's soooo hot in Leicester. Plus my old lab is currently at 33 degrees. I think my friends are forming a lynch mob as I keep going on about my wonderfully air-conditioned lab :)

Looking forward to seeing you all. Don't know when we're going to fit the BBQ in. Maybe Sat lunch. Have arranged to meet Joe et al in the Fav on Saturday evening.

If there's anything you want to do particularly, let me know. Thought I might take you to Mojo's at last.

Please could you or Andy let me know when you are arriving tomorrow - Thanks.
