dude!....you have my sympathy, I had a similar incident last year, how I didn't end up in a ditch upside down, I will never know, I got across 3 lanes of traffic and onto the hard shoulder without a scratch by sheer force of will I think....hope you're not too shaken, I was having nightmares for days.

Jebus! I got a flat at 90 on the M1 a couple of weeks ago but it looked far less impressive.

I am convinced, however that my car is my guardian angel as she's also saved my from certain death when I spun her on the A15 whilst swerving to avoid a pheasant in the wet.

I thought I should give her a name after that so she's now called Long Distance Clara. :-D

Glad you are okay... I have to add, now would be a good time to look at "run flat" tyres. I have had mine for years, and to be honest they have saved me many (many many) times. What it costs you in tyres, you save in missed heartbeats...

Insania. Glad you're okay.

Someone who works for my dad had a tyre blow out while coming on a motorway on-ramp at 30mph. The van flipped over a few times and stopped at the central reservation, and the cargo area was entirely flattened - but the passenger area was mostly fine. Her only injury was some bruising under her arms from when somebody pulled her out through the window.

I think cars are built quite a bit safer than we realise these days, but still, when you imagine what *could* go wrong..
