I am married to Spiderbaby and live in Banbury, Oxfordshire after eight years living in the USA and Sweden. I am working and training as a clinical scientist for the NHS in Oxford.

There are now over ten years of photographs on my blog! It all started with a photograph I took on the 1st of May 2004... It's been a wonderful journey, thank you all who have shared it with me, and made this blogging community one I keep coming back to!

Interesting things I read recently:

"Only one in five people born [in the UK] since 1975 believes in God".
Source: Prof David Voas, University of Essex

"For every dollar invested in the Human Genome project, $141 was returned to the US economy". Francis Collins, NIH
Source: New Scientist 27 July 2013.

I am Pavlovs_dog on PSN and would be happy to link up with Playstation-owning mobloggers : )

Too Much Information: The first album I ever bought was the Fraggle Rock soundtrack. Pretty cool, eh? I was only 16 : )

Andy says:

Morning Ash.

Is the person with their back to the camera telling a rude joke that has surprised a few people (with the lass in the middle doing a Tor style 'this is rude and I shouldn't find it funny but I just can't help it so I'll put a hand over my mouth and hope no one sees me sniggering')

Job and flat thing all chugging along. We've sorted a flat for Sheffild (one of the ones I went to see when staying with you). We'll move in the week starting 12th of September.

Also, had a job interview yesterday and have a few more in the pipeline so fingers crossed. The one yesterday went well and I'll find out today or tomorrow if I've got it. I'll let you know.

And.... the cricket is back on today and pidgeon injured himself in the warm up. So that'll help.

132-1 at lunch? That's the way to do it. Always nice to see Lee get hit by trest for 3 4s and a 6 in the last over. Lets hope this continues!!

EDIT> I don't have to put up with Cricket bollocks, y'know. I have the power to edit these posts - Crickson.

Andy> When you've moved in you'll have to come over here more often. Good luck with the job, the project I wanted looks like it has been funded, so hopefully I'll be able to formally apply for it. Fingers crossed all round....

Tor says:

Andy - long time! Did you get my email? It looks like that email address will fast be replaced. Good luck with the interviews. Thats great news about your new flat in Sheffield. Please have a house warming. And whats this about my stelth sniggering?!

Ash - thats good news about the funding, I'm sure you'll get the job.

P.S. lv 15 (+ I didn't jump to it) Gosh, that makes me v sad!!

4th Aug 2005, 16:46

Oooh... cool shot.

Good luck on the job front Andy! And on the funding front Crickson (is that in the same department? Does that mean 2 more years of complaining about how poorly managed it is?).

Tor; I didn't get any texts from you when I was back in the UK (you were texting my UK number weren't you?). I sent you a few seeing if you were going to one of the meet ups in London, but never heard back from you. Hope things are ok. I've got visions of some poor bloke slowly dying on your ward while you're just trying to finish level 14 of planarity...

Tor says:

Mark - yup, I've been texting the wrong mobile! Just great! At least it wasn't becasue of my cooking.

Re. planarity - I'm sure the man slowly dying would have understood and done so quietly.
