I make things on the web, mobile and in the actual world.

I've done lots of bits and bobs over the years, and right now I'm mostly working on this.

I enjoy speaking about things I like, most recently this. You can email me if you'd like, and I'm on twitter.

"Hi, it's Alfie. I'm posting to my moblog(?) from SpinVox. Just kind of showing how it works really because I think it's quite cool. I'm not quite sure exactly what for. It could be leaving your cell phone message when you're out so you can remind yourself for something. Definitely useful for when there is no ati(?) connectivity where ever you are. It's very good at what it does but the main thing about moblog(?) is that it then stores your original file as well. As you'll see, it's not currently streaming the audio in a flash player all though it will be soon. So quite a useful audio blogging tool I think."

So SpinVox doesn't transcode into, say, Flash or MP3?

In-page audio players are in the plan, but given we get far more video than audio posts, we decided to do flash players for video first. The actual transcoding bit for audio will be easy enough (unlike video, which was *very* tricky!).

I'm still a bit surprised that spinvox send wav files - someone should let them know that it's not the 20th century any more, even my toaster* plays mp3s these days...

* it doesn't. I bet you can get one that can though.

I had one. It was a mickey mouse toaster, and played the mickey mouse theme when the toast popped up. I bet the theme was in an mp3 file.
