Some of you may remember pictures of the foal that was born in the field
just next to us in May. My daughter named him Sweet William, the mother
horse she called Poppy and there was a third horse she called Toastie.
My daughter loves animals and she has been devoted to these as have the
other local children. It's just as well as the horses were dumped here
by travelling types (diplomatic tag) and pretty much left to fend for
themselves. Today the travellers came with a horse box and took them
away. DD has been sobbing for hours and there is nothing I can say or
do to make it better. This is often how it is when you're a parent. I

what? they dumped them and then just came and took them away? beautiful horses? I remember how I felt as a kid when I went to bed and they mowed the fields. I woke up and all the flowers were gone.

Thanks for the comments and interest. This afternoon I heard neighing and looked out and the lone mare, the one DD called Toastie is back. She is quite nervy and bad tempered which is probably why they brought her back!

My DD is delighted to see her back.
