Slumming it on the boat

This is the inside of the cruise ship we were on. I was really quite impressed. It included 5 swimming pools, 12 hot tubs, a gym, a casino, a theatre, 6 pubs, 2 clubs, two 24 hour buffets, 5 restaurants, and a crazy golf course.

Holy cow, is that ever a lot of stuff! That's one big ship. Great shots, very impressive.

I was surprised at how good the cruise was Mandy. We went with Princess (part of P&O;), and I was shocked at how well we were treated. As for socially awkward dinner guests, when you book you have the option to eat at the "international dining room" where you have the same guests and waiter at a set time, or "anytime dining" where you can go to any of the four other restaurants (all 5 have the same menu, but the four anytime restaurant each have their own specialty dish). You have about 5 option for starter, salad, main and dessert, and they're pretty posh (caviar, frogs legs, Alaskan crab, venison etc.)

If you don't want the fancy food there are two 24 hour buffets, which serve great food too. I think some of the people on the boat lived there.

The biggest issue I had with the cruise is that it was difficult to find anyone under the age of 70, and it meant a lot of the pub nights were pretty lame.

What a drag.

Oh, I hear Norwegian is the bet cruise line! A few people we were chatting to said Princess compared similarly though. We chose this ship because it was the cheapest (I think my friends who went as a couple paid around $1200 total, which for 7 days of accom and food was pretty good I thought). We had a few sunbathers on our cruise to, despite it being pretty nippy.
