A group distraction, presented by nige.

----------

The first instalment of Interview52 is now complete! It started on Friday 18th July 2008 and finished on 13th September 2009. A little later than expected, but we got there.

----------

52 mobloggers from around the world...

Some familiar, some not...

Each will publish a unique self-portrait, accompanied by a short interview.

Candid portrait meets candid interview.

The Rules

Every Friday the next interviewee in line will publish a new portrait and interview, consisting of their answers to the ten questions they have been given.

After they have published, the interviewee will then become the interviewer. They will be responsible for finding the next participant, as well as compiling the questions that this next person in line will answer. Interviewers can change as many or as few questions as they like, but they should change at least one before passing them on to the next lucky punter.

Thats it! Simple. More detailed instructions will be given to each interviewee as and when they are approached, so fear not.

Reason # 735 why I avoid being a girl and wearing heels....

1) Where on earth are you, and how on earth did you get there?

As I type this, my bottom is currently parked on the spare bedroom floor of my house in the area of Wightwick which an be found in Wolverhampton. In order to reach this location, In 1982 my parents and sister moved from the motherland of India to Glasgow, Scotland. Three years later I was born and grew up in a small new town called Cumbernauld found just outside Glasgow. Ten years flew by and we were the informed we would be moving to *shock horror* ENGLAND! So in in 1995 we uprooted and left the snow, accents and deep fried mars bars to enter Wolverhampton. 8 years of schooling passed by and I decide to go to university in Prague, Czech Republic and leave home for the first time to go study in a foreign land. One year later I conclude I cannot handle living in that country nor can I handle the education so I return back to Wolverhampton. After a year out I re-entered education and shifted up to Manchester and complete my degree. Now being on the hunt for a job/career I am hovering between Wolves and MCR to sort out this mess.

2) What age is your soul?

My passport says I'm 23, I think I act like a 19 year old most the time, but usually I feel I want to be at that stage in my life where I'm settled down with a career and a nice future with a nice man, which is where I would like to be around the age of 27ish. But then when I get to that age I think I want to be I'll get turned away from the tbars and clubs I enjoy so then looking back I think I'd want to stick to the 19odd years of age.....

3) What do you want to be when you grow up?

The typical cheesefest answer would be "happy" or "rich" or ideally a combo
of the both.
The realistic answer should be I am now technically a grown up so I should be doing what I want to be or working towards it. To this day I still do not
have an answer and I'm going to keep looking until I find out what I want to
be...but other than that i do want the cheesefest saga of happy and with a
comfortable amount of money if not rich

4) Why do you get out of bed in the morning?

currently it's either because:

a) my mother comes barging into my room informing me I've wasted the day in bed claiming it to be midday when in fact it's only just hit 11am.
b) my mobile rings because somebody is ringing me to tell them they have
received my cv for a job and someone will get back to me for a telephone
interview (but I never get that call back! sob!)

5) Tell us about your most embarrassing moment.

I can't think of any "embarrassing" stories that have happened to me that
are like what you would find in the back of teenage magazines, which in a
way makes me feel deprived. Most incidents which make me cringe are usually from drunken texts I occasionally send to the few select people and thank them and say how much I love them as friends, which is a pretty rubbish story to tell.

6) What 3 things would you bring with you on to a deserted island?

Do friends count as things? If so I'd take 3 of my best friends with me and we would have a never ending supply of banter to keep us occupied and recreate raves like we have in our living rooms on random nights in which end up being some of the best nights ever.

7) Tell us about the last time you lost your temper in public.

The last time I can recall "losing my temper" (more of having a childish
tantrum, but hey!) in public was when I was about 8, and my mum told me in the morning before I went to school she would buy me a little mermaid Ariel doll for me when she would go shopping that day, and while walking home from
school she said she hadn't bought it and I burst into tears saying how she
promised she would. I then got home and found she had bought it and it was
waiting for my on the kitchen table.

The last time I think I actually lost my temper and literally exploded was a
drunken night when we were trapped in Poland in January and had a go at two
of my friends for being prats (putting it lightly) towards each other. But as it only really happened in front of them 2 and another friend in a hotel
room I don't think it's classed as public.

But combining those two stories it fits the question!

8) Who are your heroes?

Back when I was in school, my hero partly as a joke, partly coz he saved me
from potentially breaking my coccyx) would the the biology lab technician
Rob.
Otherwise I don't have any. I don't know if its because I don't believe in heroes or I just haven't come across my heroes in life yet.

9) What's the story behind your moblog username?

Around the time I signed up to moblog (circa 2004) I used to spend most my days watching SpongeBob SqaurePants, and my first name Vidhi is usually shortened to Vid. So I simply combined the two names to make it my own new moblog name and it's stuck since..

10) What question would you like to ask the next moblog interviewee?

What is that one random item you have hoarded away that you can't bear to throw away for nostalgia purposes and what is the story behind it?
