"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience
Skating away, skating away, skating away
On the thin ice of the new day"

Thanks, everyone! Thank you hl fairy!
I've been so upset about the hollyhock slaughter at the school because the bees loved those flowers. I haven't cut my catmint because there are bees on it every day. Yesterday, we went into town and bought bee balm, lilies, rudbeckia and hollyhock to plant.
The amount of bees visiting tripled within an hour, and we saw several tiny baby bees. :D
Thank you, Hari! You've captured similar, your wasp mimic comes to mind. The beebalm seems to be what did it - the bees move just a bit slower on it than the catmint. Still, they are the devil to catch.
Thank you, Mara, Factotum and Viv!
Going to treat myself to a D80 for crimbo, unless something swankier in the same price bracket comes out before then.
Will be making do with my camphone until then.
Oh nice! I love my D80, it goes everywhere with me. :) I kind of wish I had waited a bit and ponied up for the D200, but that's just because the body is sturdier and more element resistant.
The D80 has been doing great, and I'm looking forward to getting different lenses one of these days. My kit lens (18-135mm) has proven to be very versatile.
Great shots. I love makin' the bees happy! Didn't take them long to find the new flowers, either.
Thanks, Rick. It's really good to see them so happy. We're definitely going to go steal the hollyhock at the school. That little one I wanted to dig up, the one behind all the trash bags? They killed it - snapped the stem at ground level.
thanks for the comment on my paris pic, compliments & congrats to you on the bees. I'm trying to make friends with them in my garden, i've just discovered a nest!
You're welcome, and thank you. :) A nest, how exciting! That would probably make me nervous, it's only since I've had a camera (May of 2006) that I've managed to be close to bees without freaking out. I have an anaphylactic allergy to bee venom, almost died from being stung when I was a kid.
Rick (the husband) loves bees, and was recently hanging out in the middle of a bee farm. The nut. ;D
