Thanks everyone, and thanks for the HL. The swans around there are pretty tame, - they're used to being fed by passers-by. Anyway, I had my stunt swan wrangler to do the really dangerous work.

Sprocket - I only had one beak/finger incident, and the finger remained attached... (counts fingers to make sure)

Factotum, yes, the beak is slightly translucent viewed from inside. I wonder how many times that's been the last thought of a small fish or insect?

JD - I think you'll find the answer is "foolish".
