Yes, there is a reasonable level of inter-intelligibility between them, from speaking to people here.

They are easy languages (to a certain level) anyway, you can kinda make it up as you go. Specially if you know Dutch, English and German :)

I agree with you Euphro and Puddlepuff. Even with my rudimentary knowledge of Dutch I can recognise some words (although rarely enough to make sense of a whole sentence)
